I have stayed there in March 2015 for a week, when in Rome. It was a walk in booking. The great thing about the place is the location, really convenient close to Termini station. Unfortunatelly there is not much care of the cleanliness of the corners behind the beds, and fridge - loads of dust and cobwebs. AC unit wasnt...

We stayed in this hostel for 2 days. We flew Mum-AUH-fco with atalia. We didn't got our checkin luggage. Excellent support was provided by Nas in getting our bags back. Reception team is good out here and speak fluent english.

The good side of this hotel was its strategic location. It is within walking distance from Roma Termini. The staff; some were nice and some were not so nice. The room was not so clean. I may consider some other place to stay should I ever visit Rome again.

This hostel is not so clean. When I went to bed, the duvet smelled like sweat, it seems they never air them or change them. They cleaned the room except on Sundays. On top of that, the room's bathroom did not have a floor division between the shower and the rest of the bathroom, just a curtain, when you showered...

Not my favourite hostel I've stayed in! Fantastically located and nice staff but it has the feel that it hasn't been decorated for 25 years (although still clean). The breakfast is very average but OK value for money being in a city. WIFI barely worked and first morning we had to have a cold shower. For price you pay, one...

Try to find somewhere else. I booked this hostel because it was supposed to be the best in Rome and was extremely disappointed. I think people like it here because of the partying but if you're just looking for a cheap place to stay while you're out all day - find somewhere else. Service was poor, the whole placed smelled,...

I recently finished traveling across Italy and while staying in Rome I decided to sleep in the Alessandro Palace. It was by far the WORST hostel I had stayed in. When I came into my room the floors were all sticky and the walls reeked of month old beer. The bathroom was completely flooded and the drain in the shower...

This hostel has a great atmosphere and the staff are really nice but the bed bug issue needs to be addressed!! I stayed in rooms 14 and 15, bottom bunks and woke up with bites all over me. After the first night, I went to front desk and they ensured me they don't have bed bugs. When I was leaving...

Pros - location (so very close to Termini, but also to bars and restraunts) - ensuite bathroom - clean - professional staff - very effective window shades to let you sleep in after a big night - fastest and most reliable and easy-to-connect-to wifi I've ever had in a hostel Cons - ensuite bathroom (i.e., if someone's using the bathroom...

I've stayed at 5 countries and 7 hostels, and here is one of the best. good: reception was great, smart and kind. Perfect location so that you can walk to Termini station in 3min. (of course, to some pizzeria.) Clean toilet, and shower room is too. bad: hot water wasnt available at midnight.

Staying in Esquilino

Neighbourhood Profile
Esquilino
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighbourhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighbourhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic centre. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
