Rome's homiest and most chill hostel since 1999, we're a sanctuary in the midst of a bustling city. From the moment you walk in, The Beehive is the kind of place where you'll feel at home. It's walking barefoot down to the cafe for your morning coffee; getting helpful advice & recommendations; eating great food; drinking local organic wine and having a good night's sleep. Located conveniently just two blocks from Rome's central train station, Termini, you won't have to lug a heavy backpack or luggage all around town. Our relaxed vibe and casually stylish atmosphere are perfect for unwinding after a day of exploration. Whether you're traveling solo, with friends or family, or as a couple, we have a variety of room types to suit all needs and budgets: dorm beds (including several female only dorms), private rooms with shared bathroom and private rooms with private bathrooms.

Neighbourhood
Esquilino
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighbourhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighbourhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic centre. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.

Just came back from a very nice stay in the Beehive. It is extremely convenient to Termini, and a much nicer neighborhood than other neighborhoods- for instance on the opposite side of the station! A bare-bones, boutique hostel is how I would describe it. The owners provide some

I would definitely recommend staying at The Beehive. The location is very convenient! It is only a few minutes from Termini station and around a 20-minute walk to places like the Colosseum, Trevi Fountain, and other tourist sites! I also felt very safe in this area which was very

Whenever I decide to spend a weekend in the Eternal City, this is my favorite place to stay. The Beehive's staff are kind & cordial and goes out of their way to be helpful. The rooms are spacious, contemporary and cozy.

After a day's journey to get to Rome, it was so comforting to arrive a the Beehive. It's well located, literally just a couple of blocks from the Roma Termini train statiion, on a quiet side street. Linda and Steve are wonderful hosts, and have gone well beyond the standard of

I booked the Beehive for myself and my son for an overnight in Rome for its proximity to the Termini since we had to catch a 7:15 a.m. train the next morning and the hotel is only 2 short blocks from the station. It was also highly recommended by Rick Steves and Frommer's travel

Hello! I'm getting a jumpstart on planning my trip to Italy next June/July. Are you completely booked next June/July or are you not taking reservations yet? (I downloaded your app and it looks like you are full.) Much thanks, Nicole
Hi Nicole, thanks for your message and your interest in The Beehive! No, we're not full yet for that time period, it's just that we don't open our calendar until 6 months prior. For dates this coming summer, we'll open our calendar on 1 December for June and 1 January for July. Let me know if you have any other questions. All the best, Linda

Nicole - send questions directly to the Beehive - their contact information is listed on their easily-found website (TA doesn't allow posting of HTML or website links).

I think I read somewhere that you have a laundry area for guests. How does that work? It would be nice to pack less and do laundry once as we are in Rome for 10 days. Thanks!
Hi Amy, yes we have a washer and dryer. It's €8 to wash & dry and we provide the soap and softener if you use it. It's self-service so you pay in cash at reception and we give you tokens and show you how it works. It's average 45 mins to wash and 45 mins to dry. Laundry hours are 10am to 9pm. Let me know if you have any other questions. All the best, Linda

is there wheelchair access?
Hello Claire, I'm sorry, but we currently do not have wheelchair access. We do have plans of changing this in the near future, but if the travel date is soon, then I'm afraid someone who needed wheelchair access would not be able to stay with us at the moment.

Ciao! I'm starting to plan a family vacation for next summer, 2019. Do you have accommodations for 5 people? I love all the reviews and would love an opportunity to experience Rome with the Beehive in the future.
Hi Alina, thanks very much for your interest! We don't have any dedicated family rooms although we do make our female dorm rooms which are 2 bunk beds available for private rental to families and we could add a fold-out bed for the 5th person. However, I'm afraid we also have an age limit - we no longer allow children under 10 years of age. If your children are older, we have the above option and if you don't need to all be in the same room, then we do have other rooms (double & triple rooms) where you can be divided. Please let me know if you have any other questions or if I can be of any other help.
