We stayed at the Beehive for the second time in October 2010 The fact that we stayed there for a second time must say something. We have also stayed in the apartments once and I would recomend them too. To put it simply it is convienient being a quick walk from the Termini - some people don't neccessarily like being...

This well located hostel is an island of calm in a busy city. It was easy to find and conveniently located. I arrived after a long night train tide and was put at ease by the friendly staff and relaxed atmosphere. I was traveling alone so went the dorm route. I am in my 50s so this is often looked...

The Beehive was recommended to us by some friends who had stayed there. We thoroughly agree with their assessment that it is a wonderful, friendly, inexpensive place to stay just a few blocks from Termini.

The place was by far the nicest place we stayed at on our round the world trip. It was clean and close to everything and the service was wonderful. Great value for the price and I wish we could have stayed longer here. I would never go anywhere else to stay in Rome if I went back......and I will go...

After our 2 week long tour of Europe, my husband and I were happy to arrive at the Beehive. We stayed in the dorm room and met some really incredible travelers. The Beehive is beautiful, safe, clean and everyone is very friendly. We were also happy to find delicious, fresh food downstairs and an internet connection. I can not wait...

I wrote to The Beehive in search of a hostel. All their dorms were full, but they offered me a bed in their Millefiori appartment nearby, which I accepted. And I'm happy I did, as I found the appartment very charming and comfortable. I only stayed in Rome for a day, but the place made me want to stay there...

Stayed in the apartment (Clover). Very nice and convenient. Well-maintained. My sisters have stayed there before and recommended to us. Would go again with no problem.

I was originally not going to stay in this hostel since it was too close to the train station and the "bad" part of town. After I read the incredible reviews, I changed my mind, and I was not at all disappointed. The location was not bad at all, and as a single female travelling alone and not even speaking...

How often does a hostel feel like a 4-Star Hotel?? The Beehive is notable for their super-clean rooms and unlike many hostels, you can hear a pin drop at night. The decor and room configurations are equal to or better than much more expensive boutique hotels. They offer private rooms and small dormitory style rooms that are expansive with high...

I have had the pleasure of staying at The Beehive on three separate occasions over the last three years. I have stayed in the dorm room and also a private room. When leaving Termini it is only about a 200m walk, which makes it a perfect place to put down your bags and hit the ground running for all the...

Staying in Esquilino

Neighbourhood Profile
Esquilino
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighbourhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighbourhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic centre. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The Beehive is a cool, stylish, eco-friendly budget hostel/hotel owned by an American couple, Linda & Steve, who came to Rome to follow a dream. In 1999 we packed up our apartment in Los Angeles and, along with our 2 cats moved to Rome and opened The Beehive, a unique cross between a budget hotel and an upscale hostel - a place where you can feel at home. Everything about The Beehive reflects our own personal values and we genuinely want to be helpful and hospitable. We love to share the kind of information that helps you get the most out of your travels. Over the years The Beehive has evolved along with us and our many repeat guests. With our amazing onsite staff and manager, all of our guests receive our dedication and effort to helping you get the best out of your holiday.
