The reasons why you never ever should utilise the services of BOOKING.COM Allow me the opportunity to clarify our position on this matter and explain how Booking Basic is different from the usual Booking.com reservations. To offer the most competitive rates to our potential customers, Booking.com searches for other third-party websites and web providers in case they offer lower prices than our own inventory. If we find it, it appears on our website as a basic reservation fee. The price differences can be quite significant and, on average, when we find a better price, it is 15% cheaper. When a customer chooses to make a reservation with the Booking Basic rate, the payment will be processed by Booking.com. This reservation and payment are sent to the third party who will finalize the reservation and is also responsible for transferring the payment to the property. Once the reservation is accepted by the third party, Booking.com sends a confirmation email to the customer or reservation. This also explains why confirmation emails are not sent instantly. Being a service and commodity, these reservations are mostly non-refundable and have little to no flexibility. Booking.com does not have a functionality to cancel or modify basic reservations once confirmed as we are intermediaries and not the commercial entity that receives the payment. For the same reason the basic reservations do not receive any invoice, either by Booking.com or by the property. However, a payment receipt is available in the confirmation email. Great hotel.staff lovely. Clean and everything you need. Restaurants/cafe on your doorstep and a 5 min walk from termini rail station. Central for all tourist points. Metro station 1min walk. Breakfast limited but there if you want it. Would definitely use this wee hotel again.
I mean the hotel itself isn’t bad, would probably give it 3 stars in that sense. Won’t be coming back though. You get treated like you’ve done something wrong asking for the key to your room as they make you hand it in every time you leave the hotel, so you never have your room key on you. Blonde lady at the front desk rolled her eyes at us every time we went and asked for our room key to get in. The service you have paid for is like a burden to them. Do yourself a favour and pay that bit more and go somewhere you’ll receive good customer service
An average two star hotel close to the train station, grocery stores and restaurants. The rooftop area was only open for breakfast during our stay and the multiple keys for various doors was cumbersome but the air conditioning was fine for early Oct.
If you are looking for a simple traditional hotel stay near Italy’s version of Central station look no further than Hotel Corallo. It is private, secure and has a lift function. The breakfast on the terrace each morning is a beautiful way to start your day with traditional Italian pastries and coffee. There is a supermarket, pharmacy and amazing Gelateria in walking distance and Termini station is a 5 minute walk away. The bed is comfortable enough and the room was always very clean.
