The hotel was ok for price. Bed was comfortable, staff was friendly, breakfast and late day bar was very good. Some good restaurants and cafes were available within a mile.

But what stood out to me was the inability of the room to cool sufficiently. Also the bathroom size was fine but the shower was extremely small even by Euro standards. The shower on the cruise ship was actually bigger with a much smaller bathroom.

We had to Uber to most locations but we did take 2-3 mile walk to Vatican City. It was hilly and rough in some areas. You may want to consider a better location even if it’s more expensive as ride share costs would be lower. Most Uber rides were in the 25-35 Euro range.

Fully refurbished, very comfortable mattresses. Exceptional friendly and polite staff. Very good breakfast. A bit far from city center but easily accessible . Highly recommend it!! There is a shuttle bus service offered by the hotel to a metro station near Vatican.

This hotel is very nice, has a great, helpful staff who are fluent in English, and is out of the Rome tourist area. We stayed 4 nights. At first, we were disappointed in the location, because contrary to the advertisements, it is NOT close to the Vatican or other attractions. By the time we left, we were very pleased with our hotel selection. A very nice buffet breakfast is included; full dinners are available in house, with full bar; all hotel staff are very nice, knowledgeable, and helpful in all ways; rooms are tastefully decorated; and, it is located in a quiet residential neighborhood. Taxis are very accessible. Most attractions are about 20-25 minutes away (about $18.00 Euros). Tours can be easily arranged through the consierge and include free transportation to and from the tour starting point. Make sure you eat at La Sisteremma at least once--ask for directions. It IS an experience!!

Stayed 5 nights, for New Years Eve vacation.
Pleasant service and stuff. Rooms every day clean and neat.
Very nice breakfast and ever better the "soul" of the hotels' mornings mr. Gennaro, a real professional that loves his job and knows how to please the customers.
Nice, safe and not noisy location, although is a bit far. Anyway, if you use bus: station is 5 min walk. You get to Cipro metro station and Vatican city in about 10 min (bus 913, 991 etc) and to city center (augusta / del corso) in 20-25 min (bus 913).
See also bus 990 whose station is very close to the hotel. It gets near city center (p.za cavour) via Cipro metro station and Vatican city.
Also, there is a night bus (n6) that starts from p.za venezzia, runs all the city center and gets you directly to the hotel. Excellent value for money.

This hotel is situated far away from Vatican. You will need 1,5 hours to reach the center of Rome. The rooms are tiny. The region is awful. Avoid it...

This was our first holiday together and I had never been to Rome so didn't quite know what to expect. The pick up from the air port to the hotel was 3 hours, unusual apparently, but this was not the fault of the hotel but EasyJet who handled the weeks booking. The hotel looked like a throw back to the 60s but had a very nice garden and inner lobby where you could sit and have a drink if you didn't want to stay in your room. All the staff were extremely welcoming and issued us with maps of where the hotel was situated and what buses etc we needed to get to anywhere, so we were able to negotiate our way around Rome without too much trouble. Our room was a little old fashioned but the bathroom had been updated and both were very clean and comfortable with fridge/mini bar and AC/heating which we could use as we wanted, also a varander which overlooked the local housing. The hotel was 3 km from the Vatican so a little way out but a free hotel bus was laid on each day to the Vatican and Metro which you had to book the previous night and also for the journey back in the evening, otherwise it was the local buses which were easy enough. Restaurants in the area were not plentiful so we eat in the hotel restaurant which didn't disappoint. Dishes ranged from 8 Euros to 43 Euros and all the food was beautifully cooked especially the steak and all served by friendly waiters. One of the highlights of the day was breakfast, everything you could want was laid out before you yummy white and milk chocolate filled croissants, in fact you could get every kind of filling, cold meats, cheeses, fruit salad, yogurt, cooked food, fresh home made bread etc. All this was organised by Gennaro who started work at 3.30am and ran the breakfasts like a military opperation, nothing was too much trouble and if there was anything you wanted which wasn't on display he got it for you, so thank you Gennaro for keeping a white chocolate croissant for me every day. Our weeks break went exceptionally well with no small thanks to this hotel and if we visit Rome again we will certainly be staying at the Dei Massimi. The return journey to the airport went smoothly and without incident!

We found that the hotel was welcoming, the rooms clean and large enough for the two of us staying. Bed was comfortable, the main thing we would ask for is for some tea and coffee making facilities in the room.
The reception staff were very helpful in recommending places to visit and how to get there. The shuttle bus was very handy to take us to either the Vatican or nearest Metro station (both about 2 miles away). It always left on time at 9.30AM, except on one occasion, when it left over 5 minutes late which meant that we really had to rush to catch a coach to Sienna for the day.
The breakfasts were good, plenty to chose from, although we were never tempted by the hot food. Cereals, fruit, bread and bread rolls, cold meats, cheese etc etc.
We had one dinner there and the chateaubriand steak for two was excellent - however we were disappointed that the vegetables were sparse and that the only potato choice was chips (fries for the US visitors).
Our stay in Rome in January had mixed weather - a lovely day when we had a guided tour of the Vatican Museums, Sistine Chapel and St Peters Basilica. But then a wet, cold day for our walk around the Colleseum, Palatine Hill and Forum. The architecture, ancient and not so modern, was breathtaking, the churches magnificent - it was our first trip to Rome and we loved it.

We came back from this hotel last Friday. It was excellent, a little out of the way but we used the free shuttle bus there and back so there was no problem getting into Rome. You do need to book the shuttle in advance though.

There was so much choice for breakfast and we made friends with Genero the head waiter who was so accommdating and funny and made breakfast a really fun time. You can see that he genuinely loves his job and tries his utmost to keep his customers happy. Hope he gets back to London some day!

We had dinner in the hotel on our last night and was served by Benny who was hilarious. He spoke very good English and kept the jokes coming even though he was really tired from a long shift. The food was good and reasonably priced.

We had a very clean room and a great view from the 4th floor over Rome. The reception staff were really helpful and the cleaning staff were very polite. I would definitely recommend this hotel and would stay there again.

Nice hotel in Rome.
The rooms are clean and airconditioned. The staff were friendly and helpful.English, german, spain - no problem.
The breakfast ist o.k.
They have a shuttle which takes you in the morning to the center of Rome. And its free. The ride takes about 10 minutes.
A nice bar gives you a lot of refreshments, when you have finished your day in the city.
The area of this hotel is very quiet so that you can have a full recreation over night. We will stay there on our next visit again.

Stayed here 4 nights over Xmas with tour group. Easy check in/out. Has lots of entry steps but has elevator. Has bar/snack area & great restaurant. Great menus & prices. Loved the staff in ALL areas. They have free shuttle to/from Vatican. Less than 10 min. away. MUST ASK about shuttle AND make reservations. Not volunteered info. Nothing around hotel ref diners, stores, etc. mainly in residential area. Taxi to Di Vinci is €55-60 plus tip. Taxis are there very fast. Taxi to Vatican is 10€, to coliseum is 22€. I would stay here again.

Dear Touringbe, Thank you for your positive comments and for having underlined taxis fees and their fastness. In Italy we are not usual to tip taxi drivers! About our shuttle service, thanks to remember that it’s an “on request” service . We inform our guests about this service, telling them, and with the information sheet that we deliver on arrival. Around the hotel there are five restaurants: the closest one is “ Dei Massimi” , following are “Festo Avieno”, “Il Chiodo Fisso” and more! Do you prefer pizza? “Il Peperoncino Dispettoso” is right for you! Near here there are also stores as supermarket and Department store. All of them are marked on the map giving to our customers at check – in. We are very glad you want to come again! We’re waiting for your next visit in Roma! Sincerely Stefano
