Except for being close to Roma Termini & St Mary Maggorie Basilica, there is nothing worthwhile about this hotel. Internet is available only in the lobby. No tea/ coffee, they provide only the kettle? No glasses, nothing. No bell boys. Only 1 lift. Very limited choices in breakfast. No water is available in room. Only saving grace was hot water.?...

I stayed few times at the Champagne Palace and will come back for sure. Position is great for visiting the city, public transport via Termini station is 50 metres from the Hotel. Hotel is clean, staff very friendly. Good value for money for that category Riccardo

Visited here in August with my husband. The hotel is not a 4 star but our room was clean and reception staff on check in were very friendly. Breakfast was continental but not a great selection although I'm not a fan of pastries so I usually had a piece of fruit. The location of the hotel was great really near...

The hotel 'Champagne Palace' is billed as a 4 star hotel. It is anything but this... The decor is tired and there is damage to nearly every corner of the hotel. In our first room, the bed linens were frayed and the walls were cover in scuffs and damage. The duvet and pillows in both the rooms we had were...

Great for what we needed, we were out exploring every day so just needed a place to sleep and keep our stuff. A safe was provided in the hotel room. We got the breakfast included in our deal and it was fine. Decor a bit in need of repair but very old style grandeur. Wifi only worked in the reception...

Location-wise, the hotel was great.  It's only 5 minutes from the main Termini station on foot.  Check-in was quick, and the guy at the counter gave us lots of recommendations for places to go and things to do.   He also recommended a restaurant near the hotel, but it wasn't that great.  I suggest not going there.  While the food...

Stayed for a contiki, room was tiny, bed rock solid and bathroom had lots of mould. If you can handle that it is actually in a very central location with lovely staff. The hotel does offer wifi but only in the downstairs reception area. If I were traveling on a budget I would consider booking again provided I could not...

Beautiful hotel, very Italian furnishings. Only 2 streets away from Termini, about 10 - 15 min walk. Right in the middle of everything. Lovely restaurants in same street. Hop on hop off bus just round the corner, a must do, great for seeing all the sights. Breakfast was good, lovely view over Rome. Fresh pastries and doughnuts!!! Very reasonable hotel,...

Unless you are taking your own bathtub, cleaning equipment, iron, wifi router or air conditioning unit, i wouldnt bother. Terrible hotel. The only way into the hotel is up a flight of stairs, so if your in a wheelchair or have a stroller, you're already in trouble. The rooms are tiny. The decoration is outdated. The walls are filthy and...

Staying in Esquilino

Neighbourhood Profile
Esquilino
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighbourhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighbourhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic centre. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
