After staying in some fairly small and weirdly arranged hotels in Venice and Florence, we arrived to stay at this nice little hotel for a couple of nights. As soon as we arrived with our two giant bags of luggage, the receptionist, who was extremely helpful and kind, offered to switch our rooms from one of the top floors to...

Rome hotels are expensive. We were expecting a decent hotel for a one week stay in Rome but we werde disappointed. This is more like a backpacker's lodge than a hotel - everything worn out and old. Wall paintings are tasteless. Our first room were so full of mosquitoes and there's this very fould odour emanating from the toilet -...

The staff were very friendly and helpful. We had a room on the top floor which was huge and a lovely large bed. The shower curtain did not work as it was not big enough and there were no hand towels or a bin but we could look past this. The breakfast in the morning was simple but satisfying (custard...

This is a two star hotel, for which you get the service and comfort that you pay for. On the plus side: - Great beds actually, better than most I've experienced in any hotel, especially budgets hotels. - Located on a side street away from the most heavy traffic, i.e. pretty quiet at night time. - Friendly staff - Security...

Stayed here with a friend during the 3rd week of may and enjoyed the stay. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Stayed on the 3rd floor and were quite surprised by the size of the rooms, they were quite spacious. The hotel seems to be in the china town part of Rome and there is not very much happening immediately...

We were overall happy with our experience at this hotel. The room size was great, but the bathroom was a little small. Bed was comfortable and we had a nice flat screen TV. There was a grocery store close by, and some really good restaurants. We were able to walk from the main train station, but it took about 15...

Staying in Esquilino

Neighbourhood Profile
Esquilino
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighbourhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighbourhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic centre. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
