My partner and I loved staying at the Villa della Fonte while in Rome and look forward to going back again. At first we were afraid that staying Trastavere would be out of the way from everything we wanted to see, but it is really...More
Although it can be somewhat difficult to locate, this hotel is well worth the search ... the rooms are immaculate and unique and cozy ... the staff is very helpful and friendly ... they were kind enough to send me a souvenir book that I...More
Great stay for 4 nights in June, 2010. Top location. Very nice rooftop breakfast. helpful, friendly staff. a few stairs may deter some. nighttime in Trestavere is magical, and you are 20 steps off the main square.
This really should be rated higher. I really liked this place; clean, nice neighborhood, beamed ceilings, my own bathroom. Breakfast was decent and the staff was wonderful. The only thing that would have made it perfect would have been free internet access. Don't know why...More

Trastevere ("beyond the Tiber") is like a faded postcard, a little worn around the edges but still charming. With its wide-open piazzas, meandering streets, weathered Renaissance buildings, and overgrown personality, it's become an irresistible mecca for visitors. Trastevere is an enclave of entertainment - a rotating set of street performers entertains almost every night, and unforgettable
eateries and bars pepper its piazzas and side streets. For a trip to the past, visit the southern and western flanks of Trastevere for pockets of yesteryear, less traversed areas with a residual 1960s and 70s Roman vibe.
