First I must state the reception staff is quite friendly and helpful. As for the room we stayed in...it could use some attention. The carpet showed a lot of wear and dirt, walls had marks all over on them, ac didn't work, bottom of shower door was black and moldy. Room attendants did not keep amenities supplied, shampoo and tissues...

We stayed at the hotel Oceania in early April. Six of us. It is very clean. The staff are very friendly and helpful. It is located in a great spot. Very close to shops, restaurants and the metro. Most of the top sites are within walking distance. There is a lovely pub/restaurant close by it is called The Flann O'Briens....

We first visited in 2000 on a Rick Steves -Best of Europe tour. 15 Years later, traveling with our adult daughter, we returned. All the staff was so helpful and friendly , especially Kira, directing us to services needed during our stay. Roberto advised for shopping when the airline lost our bag. Morning Cappuccino at breakfast ,delicious. Our triple room...

Our family of 4 stayed in a quad room in April. We had a great experience, and felt very well-cared for. The staff tried hard to help us with directions, recommendations and misc. travel needs. Our room was very large! It was elegantly appointed, (although many years ago) and it was clean and in good use. But the bathroom had...

This lovely hotel is located in a great spot! Very close to the train station. The personnel was very cordial and helpful, the rooms were immaculate. The breakfast offerings were delicious! The only negative was the temperamental elevator. If it's not working , you will have to climb up 3 floors to the hotel.

Traveled to Italy with my daughter and the hotel was in a great location (Metro Station for La Republica was a 3 minutes walk and this is line 1 that takes you to Piazza Navona (Flamini) and to the otehr major places. The hotel was incredibly charming and we enjoyed Roberto, Kira, and my amigo from Argentina. When I go...

The location is perfect to start your first trip to Rome. Most of the top sites are within walking distance. The hotel is on the third floor and does have an elevator. All the furnishings are tops and the service is friendly and helpful. Our last trip to Rome we stayed at a five star hotel by the Spanish Steps....

The room was large and bed comfortable. The outdoor patio provided a quiet respite in the evening from the hustle and bustle of Rome and touring all day. Supermarket nearby on Via Nazionale had great selection of wine and cheese we enjoyed on the patio. I would stay here again in a heartbeat. Good wifi connection. Anna, Keira, Roberto and...

Staying in Esquilino

Neighbourhood Profile
Esquilino
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighbourhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighbourhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic centre. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
