First of all the hotel has a lovely garden, inside the decor is Romanesque with a bit of baroque. The rooms are lovely, some are good sized, breakfast is very well done with a wide assortment of tasty items. The location, in a pleasant and probably wealthy neighborhood, is quiet and easy to walk to great restaurants, food shopping, a...

Old fashioned hotel, pleasant environment, with a nice garden where you can enjoy breakfast. The location is the best thing about this hotel, beautiful surroundings and within walking distance of almost all the sights and attractions.

The hotel is really well situated - you are in the center of Rome yet in a quiet residential district. After a day strolling in the streets of the city, its an amazing shelter of peace. The rooms are decorated in a roman style so its cute and interesting. I am very sensible to cold and there was a good...

This is a good option in busy touristy Rome, tucked away in the quiet and beautiful Aventino neighborhood, and yet close to the main attractions (20 min walk to Colosseo). The hotel is charming, comfortable, clean, with good service, and a nice terrace for breakfast. It is good value for Rome.

We had a pleasant stay at this hotel and would stay here again if in Rome. Our room was clean and comfortable and the hotel staff was friendly when we had a question about anything. What we enjoyed the most about this hotel was breakfast. Every morning we looked forward to getting up and sitting on the patio to eat....

I stayed here for a weekend just before Christmas. My husband was in Rome on business and staying there for two weeks. We found the location to be perfect, within walking distance of the main attractions of Rome but also in a lovely quiet area. The best of both worlds! The staff in this hotel are so, so lovely. All the preceding reviews are nothing short of praises, so booking this hotel felt like a no brainer. It turned out much better than I expected. The hotel is right in the heart of Aventino, a largely residential district. The upscale type. You will hardly see any gibberish spray-painted on walls. It may feel a bit far from 'where the...

This was such a quaint romantic hotel, situated a short 5min walk from tram and bus lines that lead you to various places around Rome. This was our 3rd stay at the Hotel Villa San Pio. We stayed for 8 nights. The hotel staff was extremely responsive, especially with assistance during the Christmas week. Staying in Aventine

Neighbourhood Profile
Aventine
Contrary to the chaos of the city, the Aventine is Rome’s oasis. A neighbourhood made up of a patchwork of ancient churches, hidden gardens, private homes and embassies, peace and quiet is top priority and the vibe definitely friends and family. Take a walk around the Aventine and you’ll find a treasure hunt of surprises like the clever little keyhole at the Knights of Malta entrance (the only place you’ll find a line) along with Parco Savello (Giardino degli Aranci) next to the ancient Santa Sabina church. Keep your eyes on the 1960s architecture, several modern buildings are built atop Rome’s original 4th century BC wall.
