The Casa is tucked away, with no outdoor sign, so you must simply use the street address. Our host and hostess helped with suggestions and directions to restaurants and various sights after being sure we were settled and comfortable. Rooms are graceful ,decorated with style, and have everything you need. It is near a wonderful, lively market square-good people watching-...

My husband and I stayed here on our honeymoon after seeing recommendation in Frommer's. We were very pleased with our stay. The small apartment we had was charming and very comfortable, and it was in a building with a very attractive courtyard. The location was great, it was very close to Campo di' Fiori and Piazza Navona, and in a...

Reservations handled very poorly. Had to cancel due to illness, gave two months notice. Was assured there would be no charge. One night was charged to my account anyway. Have called for weeks; various staff members, including the hotel owner, blame each other for the mistake, promise to take care of it and never do. I have never written a...

We were apprehensive about our stay at Casa Banzo after recent reviews on this site. We booked it after seeing it on The Guardian's top 10 places to stay in Rome. As others have said it is not easy to find and despite asking for directions from the hotel they were not helpful. However when we did find it we...

The location was great. Close to a lot of attractions. The place was very difficult to find and no one answered the buzzer when we got there so we were sitting outside until we ran into the person running the hotel. They requested cash which was strange because I don't make a habit of carrying 600 Euro on me. They...

Casa Banzo was a great disappointment. We had seen a recommendation for it in the Guardian UK. Towels (if you can call them such; flimsy dishtowels is more like it) were laundered every two days; the bathroom was covered in ants, and on the last night, we were told that we'd have to leave the hotel because there was a...

My husband and I stayed at the Casa Banzo for three nights while in Rome. This is the place to stay if you want a real experience... it's a cute little hotel/bed and breakfast in the center of Trastevere. It can be a bit difficult to find if you don't know your way around the area, but it is VERY...

This bed and breakfast is recommended by some very prestigious sites, but mainly I think that is because it sits in a great old building very close to Campo dei Fiori and the staff at the inn are so very, very helpful. The rooms themsevles are very plain and there are no extra amentities. Security is dicey as some of...

We stayed here for 2 night in May 2007. We were absolutely enchanted by the Casa Banzo. This BandB is perfectly located near the Campo De Fiore. It is within walking distance of the Vatican, Trevi Fountain, Spanish Steps etc. It is a really gorgeous establishment. The entrance and breakfast room are beautifully decorated with antiques. Going through the heavy...

Casa Banzo was in the perfect location -- no more than 30 minutes from any point of interest, and located right in the center of all the action. Two minute walk to the center of Campo de' Fiori, five minutes to Piazza Navona and the Pantheon, twenty to thirty minutes to the Vatican and Colosseum... all by foot, mind you....

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
A special place in Rome Nestling in a small square in the heart of Reinassance Rome on the remains of the ancient city, the 16th century palace was originally built for the noble family Alibrandi. The 18th century additions and subsequent renovation over the centuries have but added to the splendour. For four generations the building has belonged to the family now offering their unusually attractive bed & breakfast rooms and selfcatering apartments for discerning visitors to Rome. Their constant concern is maintaining their same traditionally high standards and ensuring the wellbeing of their guests and visitors of Rome. Great attention is paid to detail: antique furnishings and quality decor alongside modern amenities as well as the friendly but discreet sevice, make this private dwelling a very special selfcatering apartment in Rome. Casa Banzo hospitality begins in the stunning reception hall, with its stained glass and vaulted frescoed ceiling, continues in the comfort of the selfcatering apartments or bed & breakfast rooms. ... more   less
