Location was spot on, within walking distance to all the main sites. No more than 15 minute walking radius to everything. We only called a cab (arranged by the concierge) to visit the Vatican which was about a 15-20 minute drive.
Hotel had easy access from main road and just a few steps to navigate to the lobby. Lobby staff were very friendly and accommodating.
Only negative was that the morning breakfast wasn't anything special and served in a small, somewhat cramped area, but they did make a decent cappuccino!
We booked the Stay&Tour package which included an early morning 2 hour power walk with ArcheoRunning project, which was a certified tour of Rome. The guide, Isabella, was excellent, very knowledgeable and personable. Really recommend this if available.
Overall a great hotel and highly recommended!

The hotel itself is a marvel, with well engineered bathrooms, spacious rooms, excellent amenities, wonderful beds, and a great rooftop restaurant bar, with excellent food an unparalleled views. I see here that some people complain about noise but the hotel's rooms have automatic shutters, curtains, and drapes. You can easily cut out the light and sound. But why do that? The rooms in front have that great view of the Foro Boario with its to ancient temples, the Santa Maria in Cosmedin, made famous in "Roman Holiday," and a general view toward the Tiber that is beautiful.
You cannot beat the location. We never took any cabs. We walk to Trastevere, the Forum, the Capitoline Hill, the Pantheon, the Circus Maximus, the Colloseum, Trevi Fountain, the Spanish steps, Camp de Fiori, you name it.
Here is how good this hotel is. I have listed some of the many attractions of Rome. Well, we consider this hotel one of the main reasons to visit Rome. Seriously, it is as important to us as many of the other attractions and is a primary reason we return to the Eternal City. We say, "Let's go to 47, and visit Rome. They are both spectacular. And it really does start and end with this superb staff.
Right next to Trastevere and the Jewish quarter to find good local restaurants.
Within walking distance of all sites, which was our main criterion.
We had priced the "archeorunning" option, which allows you to visit Rome in the morning, a 2-hour jogging/guided tour, tailor-made, with a super nice archaeologist. To do absolutely.
The breakfast was good, without being exceptional for a 4-star hotel (we've already had nicer ones). The breakfast staff were very efficient, smiling and responsive.
We had a room on the 5th floor with a panoramic view, very good. The bathroom was too small, with a tiny bathtub, which really needs to be updated. Traces of limescale everywhere around the bathtub.
The reception staff were friendly, but not extremely efficient.
Overall, a good experience, quite high price, but seems within the norm of Rome.

Breakfast was a good selection but was quite often cold no matter what time we arrived to eat there, the Roof terrace was lovely but Drinks were very expensive , so we only went there once.
This Hotel is in a fabulous location for all the marvellous sights , close to lovely Bars and Restaurants as well, we really made the most of our time there and had an amazing break. For the reasons I've listed I've not been able to rate this Hotel as a 5 but 4 is a good positive score.
The staff there ordered us a Taxi to the Airport, all staff were extremely friendly and helpful.
We enjoyed the breakfast buffet daily and ate in the interior courtyard. I do think they should have hand sanitizers available for before and after serving oneself. We had lunch at the rooftop restaurant and I found it to be too pricey for what we had. Perhaps dinner with evening views would justify the price.
The staff was not friendly or helpful. They did not go out of their way at all to help or greet us. It was a sharp contrast to all the other hotels we stayed in in Italy. We asked several times for dining recommendations, but did not receive much help. We followed one person's limited advice and it ended up being our worst meal of the trip! We never really felt welcome or valued.
The rooms we had were a good configuration for a family of 4, with two separate rooms connected by a shared hallway that was locked off from the main corridor. The rooms were spacious, but did not that clean or well-maintained.
All in all, it was a bit disappointing. I would likely select a different hotel for a return trip to Rome.
The rooms are spacious. Everything centers around being green. They give you an aluminum bottle so you can fill up with water in the lobby and throughout Rome. You need to put your room key into a device that allows you to use the lights. When you leave the room and pull out the key the lights go out. Clever. Staff is friendly. Great breakfast. Walking distance to Roman Forum and Coliseum. My only negative is that there should be more places to eat around the hotel. You have to walk and with the heatwave hitting Rome that is not easy to do. Don’t hesitate to stay here.
The service exceeded our expectations as the staff were extremely friendly and responsive.
The air conditioning was excellent, a great feature in the scorching August weather. The bed was also very comfortable. The toiletries are large size that are in the room permanently, something that seems to be more common these days at boutique hotels
While the espresso at breakfast was great, we skipped the food in favor of eateries close by.
While 47 was not the most beautiful and luxurious hotel we've ever stayed in, I would 100% recommend it to friends visiting Rome for all of the other features mentioned above.
I would give this hotel a 5 rating except for the the sarcastic unfriendly Italian waiter who waited on us on the roof top restaurant for lunch. After much prodding this waiter finally moved our table 6 inches closer to the umbrella shade in an angry manner. The waiter is described as being in his 40s, close cropped grey hair and believes everyone should bake in the Roman sun while eating and drinking.
"Be sure to make reservations well in advance for the better restaurants in Trastevere."Read full review
