This is a bit off the beaten path but was a pleasant oasis once we arrived. Rooms were clean and spacious (for Europe); lovely lobby; excellent hostess who spoke good English and was very helpful in finding a restaurant. Would have been nice if they had some free bottled water rather than the vending machine outside the lobby. That detracts a lot from the vibe. Still it’s a very nice place.

Drove down a rather depressing outer city road, took a left into a residential apartment block and about 100 metres up we found the first gate to another residential area. After this gate, a short drive took us to another gate, which was opened for us, The reception staff were wonderful, welcoming and really helpful, explaining the location of the railway station to Rome and good places to eat in the locality. The room was spotless and was on the ground floor with a small terrace. The private parking was a real bonus and breakfast was good, by Italian standards. The only downside, as mentioned in another review was if you walked from the hotel the access roads are a little unnerving by the large number on barking and snarling dogs, but they are all behind gates and fencing. The real bonus is the 25 minute, 1 euro rail fare directly into St Peter's Square where you can walk to all the sites really easily. Would recommend.

An excellent introduction to Italian/Roman hospitality began with a warm welcome on our arrival at the gated entrance, signalling a secure environment for out stay and to park the car.
After a long journey driving from the UK, my son and I were warmly welcomed to La Rocchetta (the stonghold).
We received a welcome upgrade, and were advised correctly that our room had been made up with twin beds.
All very clean, the air conditioning a real boon! The keycard to the room controls all the lights in the room, leaving enough time to exit the room without sudden darkness as in other hotels, and the air conditioning remains on and full controllable from the room.
The beds were comfortable, the linen clean, and the availability of additional pillows in the room complete with a safe, a reasonably priced minibar, and a flat screen television.
The bathroom was modern and well appointed with plenty of towels of a good size.
The breakfast, was modest by English standards, but I was in Italy, and when in Rome.....
The coffee was nice and strong though ;-)
All the staff we encountered were genuinely thrilled to have us as guests, and there was no over intrusion, but a good welcome of faces that were with us throughout our 5 night stay.

Slightly out of the way, an old villa down a residential side street. We were at the end of our walk on the Francigena, so any bed is welcome. To be fair, the beds were comfortable, but the bathroom rather tired (gaps between tiles need attention), as was the rest of the building. Fellow travellers had a faulty keycard and a leak in their bedroom). Had an odd vibe, maybe looking for an identity, and not sure if it was a hotel, hostel or B&B, which hasn’t had any attention for the last 20 years. Didn’t feel particularly inviting. Breakfast was mediocre, machine coffee, nothing special.

Me and my fiancée stayed there for 6 nights from April 3-9th.

Pros:
The price and the quality of the hotel was very good!
The staff was very helpful and very patient, they gave us a printed map of Rome with all the good locations. Also, they printed for us a Train time table and explained us how to get around in Rome.
All in all, the place was very nice, quiet and clean.. The breakfast was also very good - fresh baked cakes, bread (and a toaster..), cheese and ham, jam, honey, milk, yogurts and serial, biscuits, nutella, fruits and a pro coffee machine (with a very good cappuccino).

Cons:
we asked specifically for a room with a bathtub and double bed. But got an ordinary shower and a twin "single joined" bed.
Also, we caught cold during our visit to Rome and asked for a cup of hot tea when we got back at night, not realizing it costs an additional fee - had to pay extra 8 Euros when we checked out (wasn't a very pleasant feeling as no one told us about the extra charge).

In summary - I would definitely go back again to this hotel but this time i would double check everything in advance.

It's a pleasant Hotel, personnel is very gentle and Eng-Fr speaking. Rooms are modern and very clean. The ration quality/price is very high. There is a parling for those who are coming by car, better to leave the car into parking and to go by walk (800m) to railway Station 'Giustiniana' to reach downtown via train (one any 15min). To be considered if you wish to visit Rome while your budget is not high but you look for confort.

I had a really enjoyable 5-night stay here, while visiting Rome on business and working nearby. We enjoyed a warm and friendly welcome, nice continental breakfasts and a spacious room. The location is really tucked away in a quiet suburb but it's easy walking distance to the train station as well as local shops and restaurants.
(I highly recommend Antica Osteria Pietro for evening meals, 10 minutes walk away on the main road!)
Thank you for looking after us!

I stayed at Resort la Rocchetta for 3 nights in September 2015. The online booking was easy, the airport transfer was easy to organise (but additional charge payable to the driver in cash).

We arrived early in the morning and were able to have breakfast there, leave our luggage, get some general advice on heading out to town and where to eat around the neighbourhood for dinner.

Our room was spacious, quiet and clean. Very classy and lovely.

The hotel staff spoken fluent English and were helpful.

The restaurants near the station were awesome! I highly recommend the one that is next to the lights on the side of the road where the train station is. Note that the restaurants don't open for dinner until 7.15pm or so.

The only negative comment, which is of no fault to the hotel management, is that the hotel is a bit of a hike from the train station. It was rather difficult for us to take all of our luggage to the train station, catch the regional train, and transfer onto another train. I think this hotel will be perfect for those who have rented a car.

This is a lovely quiet hotel, a little off the beaten track (about 10/15min walk from the train station 5/10mins from bus stop) so getting around is fairly easy. Travel passes for both are available from local store and are very cheap.
Electronically operated gate so when you first arrive press the intercom on the right hand side, keys provided to operate during your stay, as you go through the gate take the right hand fork to the main hotel gate.
All the staff we met were friendly and helpful, especially Flavia, it's obvious she loves her job. Thank you for all your help during our stay and my birthday treat, it was a lovely surprise. we ate them all on the train journey to Naples!
Breakfast was, as you would expect, continental, inc. cereals, fresh fruit, breads, meat, cheese and cakes.
Everywhere was spotlessly clean.
There is a pizza eat in or take away, a pharmacy, small deli/pizza place and a coffee/bar plus a nice traditional Italian food restaurant on main road before you get to the train station.

We walked the Via Francigena and because of the extreme heatwave we were very early. The staff was friendly to accomodate us early. THANK YOU SO MUCH. The rooms was spacious, clean and comfortable with everything we need!
The staff assist us with Lunch and Dinner in the most beautiful rooms.
We had a early checkout and again, the staff provide us with a lovely packed meal. THANK YOU!!

This Hotel is situated in a Residential area, which is quiet and very safe, BUT this made it far from any Restaurant, Cafe’s and Bars / Trattorias.
The swimming pool was out of order, this would be lovely in the extreme heat

Dear guests, thank you for spending your time to write a rewiew. The swimming pool is out of order for works we apologise for that. There are 2 nice restaurants at 700 metres from the hotel but we understand if you are walking for Via Francigena when you arrive to the next stop you do not like to walk for one metre more...
