The Dandi Domus is in a very good location, with easy links by foot or metro to the Roma Termini station. We opted for the walk and were there in 10 minutes. We were met by Phillipe who gave us a warm welcome and annotated a map with all the locations, routes and even his own phone number should we...

Stayed in the double bedroom with a private bathroom for two nights with a friend. The communication before our arrival was excellent and when we got to the room Mara let us in quickly. She took the time to recommend places to visit and where we could eat (and in which areas we shouldn't!). The room itself was very basic,...

The location is amazing; we were able to walk home from the Colosseum if necessary but also could bus anywhere very easily. There are close restaurants and everything you need is within walking distance. Number one, Giuseppe, the host, will go above and beyond for you! I left my iPad in my pillowcase in a rushed departure. I live in...

The room was very basic as you would expect from the hostel. The room was slightly below what I was expecting as there were a number of faults. For one thing the kettle and fridge were both faulty and don't work, the towels were not replaced or cleaned at all during our stay (which although wouldn't be a problem for...

The owners here are absolutely charming and lovely, always happy to help and always explaining things well - they gave us some great pointers as to where to go. It's only an 8 minute walk to the Colosseum and super close to the metro. The breakfast is small but authentic, the coffee is amazing and the croissants great - the...

The guest house is a nice place to stay when in Rome. As previous reviews indicate it is close to the metro station in a typical urban Italian neighborhood. It is not a five star hotel and the prices reflect that, but it offers really great value. The service is excellent and the manager is really nice. She provided excellent...

Not far from the main tourist attractions (for most places it's best to walk) and in a "genuine" area: with corner shops, a small supermarket just underneath and an excellent Italian restaurant on the corner. Not the poshest area of Rome, but full of real life, a small park around just a few steps away and a very interesting daily...

Nice hotel with traditional Italian breakfast. Clean room. With fridge, kettle, tea and coffee. Fresh towels and bed linen. Good connection to city center. 10 min by walk to Colosseum. Excellent choice for 2-4 nights stay in Rome!

This hotel was located conveniently (10 min walk from termini, 15 min walk from collosseum) and staff was friendly. However, our room was extremely small - my husband and I basically had to hug the wall to get into bed. The shower was tiny (I am 5'2" and barely fit) and didn't drain properly (we had to keep turning the...

Staying in Esquilino

Neighbourhood Profile
Esquilino
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighbourhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighbourhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic centre. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.

“When you are looking for a hotel don't expect big signs. It is located on a second floor in an apartment block. So when you reach their address (street number 39) just ring the bell that says Dandi Domus next to it and the staff will greet you and show you everything around. It is not a noisy place at all, thus you will be able to get a great night sleep.”
