6 nights round trip tour from Paris ,extensively to Italy, passing by Lucrane and south of France. It wasn't as hectic nor exhausting as it sounds. One must be modest in his expectations from day one. The coach travel (well over 4000km) wasn't too bad, due to the frequent stoppages; almost every 2hours and also the pretty sceneries along the...

This guesthouse is a very cheap bargain within one bus stop of Trastevere train station, and there is everything you need in the surrounding neighborhood. The place is kept very clean and tidy by the warm and kind host Roberta, and you get a basic but good breakfast and free treats like water bottles. However, the low price also comes...

I stayed two nights here this week, and it was perfect, the owners are very pleasant, it is clean, comfortable, stylish with a private bathroom (across the hall), excellent wifi, a TV, and a nicely prepared continental breakfast, and free water. I would recommend it as its very cheap but of a high quality. Its in an apartment block on...

Very comfortable and affordable and i highly recommend for those on a budget. Rome is not the cheapest of cities so this went a long way. It is actually an apartment in a block that has been converted to a B&B. It is all quite new and the owners keep the place immaculate. Very safe and secure. The owners live...

Staying in Monteverde

Neighbourhood Profile
Monteverde
Above the city on the Janiculum hill, Monteverde is Rome’s popular "getaway" neighbourhood, coveted for its greenery. Rome's largest urban park, Villa Pamphili, is the area's centrepiece with affordable prices and peace and quiet. Monteverde is just far enough away from the centre to feel like you’re on a Roman holiday and close enough to feel the lure of Rome's chaos. Though its downside is the lack of scheduled public transport, this family-oriented area is literally a well-deserved walk in the park.
