An excellent place to stay in Rome. Very friendly staff. The rooms are very clean and spacious. Good location, close to Roma Termini, Colosseum, any many other attractions. Definitely first choice when coming back to Rome.
Stayed at this hotel in June 2019 and it was perfect. Close to the colosseum and Roman Forum. Room was newly decorated and was perfect for the few days we were there. All staff spoke English and were very helpful when speaking to them.
Super staff! Super location! Super rooms! Details- at leasure during the weekend! Finally, got some time to write how much I enjoyed the trip to Rome, and Hotel Centro Cavour was an important part of the great experience. This is rather a travelogue, than a review. While the winds of life took us to different continents, the family love remains as strong as always. Every year we meet either in America or Europe, for business or leasure, at our homes or in a new place to explore; we use every opportunity. This year was Rome and it was a Christmas suprize. We used Trip Masters Europe to book our vacation, and the hotel that came with the package was Centro Cavour. Although we had opportunities to explore other options, the deal was a steal and we decided to start on the right foot- be thankful and take the offer. Besides the hotel and flights, we booked the airport transfer, travel insurance and guided tour. Lenny at Trip Masters Europe went above and beyound to make the trip as convenient as possible. And Indeed, everything went perfect: A perfect time of departure from Atlanta (14:00) that allowed us to rest and have our traditional weekend breakfast before the travel; A perfect 3 hours layover at JFK to give us the opportunity exploring this major, but not visited previously airport; A reasonable 7+ hours transAtlantic flight, landing around 10:00 and making the day of arrival into a full day in Rome; Holiday taxi sent for us an almost vintage, in perfect condition clean, sleek and smoohly running Jaguar, that took us to Centro Cavour; At Centro Cavour we had a surprize - the hotel is trully steps from the Caloseum, Basilica of St Peter in chains, and in the middle of a very bohemian neighborhood with plenty of restaurants and public transportation. We arrived really way earlier than the check in time, but the Centro Cavour hotel staff was awesome: Alin and Mirabela met us with warm greetings- a nice chat and coffee, an introduction to the neighborhood- what to see, where to have breakfast, how to get where we wanted to go first. Great deal of emotional intelligence- just what’s expected from a host to make you feel athome. This is a small hotel, recently remodeled with great taste. Rooms are very clean. High sealing, well appointed wall colors, furniture, drapes, tiles in the bathroom, balcony overlooking Coloseum about a block away and old buildings accross the street, made me feel happy and inspired. The hotel is not a B&B, but the recommended few places allong the street had excellent breakfast. Honestly, in Rome it’s very hard (but not impossible) to hit a wall in term of places to eat, or landmarks to visit. For the Vatican tour and the Bourgese galeries we had booked guides in advance and they were very inteligent and professional. But we also booked guides ad-hoc for the Coloseum and Palatine hill, and those gentlemen were very charismatic and informative. The history is so dense and deep in Rome! Every stone is a single character in a 3000-year story book of western civilization. My first time in Rome was great, it was a suprize and inspired me to visit again... On the last morning in Rome, Holiday taxi picked us up exactly at 8:05 (as scheduled) and took us to the airport. Thanks to Lenny from Trip Masters Europe, we had on the return a direct flight. 11 hours later, by 17:00+ we were home in Atlanta. In summary, Great Thanks from our entire family to: Lenny at Trip Masters Europe; Alin, Sorin and Mirabela at Centro Cavour hotel; Holiday taxi; Darius and Anna - our tour guides; Delta Airlines (of course), and... Medical staff at the ER St Jovanni hospital- yes, travel insurance came handy... (you never know what may happend during a trip, even in the Eternal City). …
We stayed at this hotel for four nights in January 2020. It is about 20 minutes from Roma Termini, so you should be able to walk there unless you have too much luggage. Hotel staff was friendly, and check-in was quick and easy. We stayed in Room 604, which was clean but a bit small. The Colosseum is only five minutes away and there are lots of eateries around. You can also walk to the Pantheon, the Spanish Steps, the Umberto Bridge (for a nice sunset view), Castel Sant'Angelo, and even the Vatican. We never had to take a taxi, as we like to explore the city on foot. Best thing about the hotel is its location and the reasonable pricing.
We booked the place only for one night as the accomodation we had booked for a week in Rome did not have a room on the day of our arrival. In hindsight we wished that we had booked this hotel for the entire period.Clean rooms with a decent sized bathroom and shower cubicle, and a welcome bottle of sparkling wine gave a nice feeling on arrival. The manager,Valentino is friendly and helpful and offered us to use the coffee/tea machine eve after we left the place. They have arrangement for a croissant and coffee breakfast a short walk away and a 20% discount arrangement with a nice restaurant,Benso,a few steps away.
