Our welcome gift (at the Cecil Hotel where you have to check in) was the order to pay the reservation in full up front in cash (Reservation was made and confirmed thru LateRooms.com, guaranteed with a Mastercard, it was NEVER told that we had to pay cash as soon as we arrived, so had to look for an ATM) Second,...

Undeniably a great central location and flashy(ish) lobby. That's about all the positives. Here come the negs... Our rooms were dark, small, dirty & SMELLY (beware the 4th floor) The bathroom was dirty, towels threadbare, shower door broken and water seeped all over the floor. On arriving back with ice-creams one hot, sunny afternoon we were informed that we couldn't...

Ideally located a hundred meters or so from Villa Medici, the shopping streets, the Metro station and the bus stop (including Hop On and Off bus services). From there you can visit all the center of Rome on foot. The room have double windows that you do not hear any noise from the street. The room was spacious with king-size...

I spent a great two days exploring central Rome from this friendly central hotel. Both the day staff and night staff at reception were very friendly and helpful, Giuseppe and Lidia especially. The breakfast was plentiful and there was plenty to choose from, though the coffee was stewed (as it seems with most Roman hotels). Though the hotel is central...

What a pleasant surprise to be greeted by a warm and very helpful reception. We were provided with a map upon arrival and the concierge pointed out all of the areas of interest around Rome. We were then escorted to our room and were very pleasantly surprised by the size and beauty of the room that we were given. After...

Hotel Cecil was the perfect hotel for our short break in Rome. We could easily walk to all the major sights - even the Coliseum was the furthest and that was only 20 minutes away. The staff on Reception were charming and we had a lovely quiet room at the back with a refurbished bathroom. The only niggle was breakfast...

From a worm welcome to a very pleasant farewell, Hotel Cecil was a wonderful experience and strongly recommended. The staff was more than helpful and understadning, we had what we need and more. We stayed in Daisy appartments with children and we have no complains, every thing we wished was met and done. Guiseppe, is one of the staff, and...

My staying in Rome wouldn't been so amazing without Hotel Cecil special structure: a very precious hotel in the actual core of the eternal city; My boyfriend and I were surprised for such a warm and extremely kind attention everyone has payed to us. Of course: Rome is indescribable for its sightseeings and fascinating mysteries but I assure the Hotel...

Staying in Campo Marzio

Neighbourhood Profile
Campo Marzio
From its original role as ancient army training fields to its present-day identity as one of the city’s most desirable neighbourhoods, the Campo Marzio is the best place to get lost in Rome. Gorgeous Renaissance and Baroque palazzos line the streets, and are filled with enticing boutiques and food shops. By day, Rome’s best-dressed denizens criss-cross its streets in a fashionable parade of errands, occasionally pausing to look fabulous in gorgeous piazzas like San Lorenzo in Lucina. Campo Marzio can be a bit of a sleeper after aperitivi hour (21:00), so visit by day and experience the pulse of daytime Rome.
