This is a lovely hotel about 7 mins in a taxi from St Peters Square. It is one of the few hotels in Rome that has a pool. The furnishings and decor are beautiful and the towels and white bedlinen are spotlessly clean. Our bedroom did look a little tired but I believe they are in the process of reburbishing them....

Excellent hotel with great staff. Clean and tidy throughout with fantastic views from the breakfast room with a good breakfast. Pool area also excellent. We would happily stay there again. Easy access to Vatican and central Rome by bus.

We booked this hotel as it was advertised with a pool. The pool was closed! The hotel was clean and the staff friendly. However the party in the roof spoiled or stay. We we were informed on Friday night there would be music until 1 am and apologised for the inconvenience. The food is good but very pricy and at...

We stayed at this hotel for four nights in the beginning of may. On the webpage it says that the pool is open från may through august. When we arrived, the pool did not look clean nor ready to use. We asked the staff who said that it was closed. When we told them that it says on their webpage...

We loved our stay at this hotel, especially because of the fabulous views which you can really enjoy from the 4th floor breakfast terrace (a very nice and extensive buffet was included). The views DO come with a price though . . . the location is not good for public transportation and is a half-hour long and steep walk into...

Price point reasonable, breakfast good, rooms comfortable and helpful staff. Busespecially into the city fairly frequent and gives you mobility without stressing about parking in Rome. Hotel needs a bit of help to bring it up to date and get rid of the 70's decor.

This Trastevere hotel was our second hotel in Rome on vacation after a quick out of town weekend. We had a car at this point of the trip, so the location worked better for us then staying Centro, and there was always convenient street parking. We also stayed here due to its location near the big Sunday flea market, which...

Breakfast buffet is great. We ate at the restaurant one evening and found the food pleasant, although the lack of atmosphere made our dining experience a little uncomfortable. Our room was smaller that we thought it would be having looked at photos on the website. Having paid extra for a superior room with spa bath we felt the spa bath...

Staying in Monteverde

Neighbourhood Profile
Above the city on the Janiculum hill, Monteverde is Rome’s popular "getaway" neighbourhood, coveted for its greenery. Rome's largest urban park, Villa Pamphili, is the area's centrepiece with affordable prices and peace and quiet. Monteverde is just far enough away from the centre to feel like you’re on a Roman holiday and close enough to feel the lure of Rome's chaos. Though its downside is the lack of scheduled public transport, this family-oriented area is literally a well-deserved walk in the park.
