I left around 2am to have something to eat, and when I came back the hotel was all close and the doors locked up. having to come back another time in the day, pick up my stuff and realize my phone wasnt in my bag....More

Hi, we took the bus to Termini station as well then walk to the hotel. It is up to you how much you want to spend for the transport. The bus is the cheapest and takes 1 hour to get to Termini.
