Stellas' daughter was very helpful. The house is on a very noisy block so it was very hard to sleep past 6am. Stella and her guest are also incredibly loud in the morning. They made beds only once during our stay.

Stella was an absolutely amazing host! Traditional Italian breakfast in the morning of caffe and croissant (small but allows room for a good lunch), Stella helps with anything you need, great fully equipped kitchen, close to Termini a 5 min walk, comfortable large double room looking out to the street. A real Italian experience, we even went back and stayed... More

Stellas house, it really is...Stellas house. Run by herself and her daughter, they are very accommodating and welcoming. The apartment is old, however the bathrooms are clean and new. There are around 4 rooms, however never heard any noise from other travellers. Its not really a hostel/b&b where you can meet people, however is good for a stop over or... More

This is a great chance to see how italian people live. The owner, Stella is nice lady, and she was quite helpfull. It is an apartment with I believe 4 rooms, 2 bathrooms. It was all clear and tidy, but not very new and I liked it that way. Location is great. 5 minutes walk from main bus station, and... More

This is a very good place in Rome. You gotta know what you pay for. It's a B&B in an appartment in the center of Rome. Absolutely nothing fancy but confortable and clean. We had a nice room and the keys of the appartment...so no curfew. The only downside...the breakfast was less than ok but for the price..who cares...

It is not a B&B but a real Italian home. Stella has a stern look but was very friendly and helpful. One evening she even took our son for a walk with ice cream treat ! Cleanliness and service was excellent. It is a large apartment in an apartment block. You have your own keys - so coming in and... More

We stayed at Stella's for 3 nights. We were 6 people on their 20s. We did not have any problem. Stella gave us key so we can come and leave whenever we want. The place was clear and cozy. The place is a big house. I think it has 6-7 bedrooms which Stella renting. 2 common bathrooms, 1 very big... More

Same review as last year. My daughter and I had a different room this time and it was a little noisy. But for the value and location and Stella's friendliness, it is still a good deal.

The place can be tricky to find if you end up trying to find the place at night. We walked out of the wrong side of the train station as we were reading our map upside down and ended up in a really doodgy area, but managed to find a taxi and get to the right place. noise levels can... More

Staying in Esquilino

Neighbourhood Profile
Esquilino
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighbourhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighbourhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic centre. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
