Our group of about 25 stayed here one night between returning from Orvieto before flying out of Rome the next day. The rooms were comfortable but not fancy. (Because some main traffic arteries are nearby, my light-sleeping wife was glad she had earplugs, though I...More

Helpful hosts held our luggage securely after we arrived early so we could take off and see the city and when we departed, they arranged for a taxi to the train Termini. Our room had three single beds so we had an extra one for...More

This quite gated B&B is well priced, and it's located very close to numerous bus lines. It is also a 5-minute walk to the Casaletto station, which is one end of the Piazza Venezia to Casaletto (Tram #8) line. From the Piazza Venezia station you...More

Domus Vitellia was an absolutely perfect place to stay in Rome. After long days walking throughout the grandiose and brutally hot city, seeing thousands of years of history and trying to retain a liftime's worth of information, Domus Vitellia was a sanctuary. It is a...More

Neighbourhood
Monteverde
Above the city on the Janiculum hill, Monteverde is Rome’s popular "getaway" neighbourhood, coveted for its greenery. Rome's largest urban park, Villa Pamphili, is the area's centrepiece with affordable prices and peace and quiet. Monteverde is just far enough away from the centre to feel like you’re on a Roman holiday and close enough to feel the lure of Rome's chaos. Though its downside is the lack of scheduled public transport, this family-oriented area is literally a well-deserved walk in the park.
