We arrived in Rome at the end of a 5 week stay in Italy. I had booked the cheapest room I could find with decent reviews because our budget was very tight and I wanted to make sure we had enough € left at the end for plenty of good Roman food and sight seeing. We ( my husband and... More

We stayed here while interrailing and it was perfect for us. The owner and the cleaner were both lovely, bringing us a fan (extremely useful!) & multi-plug adaptor. There were 2 shared bathrooms (wet rooms - bring flip-flops) between a small number of rooms so you never had to wait, and we also had a sink in our room. The... More

booked a low priced hotel and that's what I got. Inn keeper was a decent person very helpful. Close to Termini rail station. it has a shared bathroom (2). Stayed 2 nights, was good for the reasons I wanted it. At the end of the day I would spend a few euros more for a better place. I listened to... More

Hotel Giamaica is in an excellent location when you arrive by airplane. The bus stops next to Termini trainstation, and the hotel is only a few streets away. We were welcomed most warmly by the host. The room was simple but clean and nice. There is central heating although it's not very warm in the room when we were there.... More

A very friendly and helpful hotel owner makes this nice and reasonably priced hotel next to Termini well worth the stay. Upon our departure we were surprised with some nice gifts. We surely will be back some day, this year or the next. ROMANI SUMUS

We stayed only for two nights at the city, but this hotel made our staying comfortable and relaxing. The location is really good, we hadn't any problem with the neighbourhood and its people, the owner very kind, the room, toilet and shower really clean, the beds very comfortable. Highly recommend for a short trip like this and not only! Maybe... More

My friend and I stayed 2 nights in a clean, spacious room. The furnishings were pretty simple but had everything you may need including a cupboard, towel and sink! The shared bathrooms were also clean and there were 3 total for just a few rooms meaning you never had to wait. Location is also great for getting to the train... More

This hotel is situated near the main train station which links with both metro lines so it is easy to get around. The shower was unfortunately in a wet room so it wasn't very nice as everything got wet even though this could easily be solved by a shower curtain. There is a fridge if you want to store food... Staying in Esquilino

Neighbourhood Profile
Esquilino
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighbourhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighbourhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic centre. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.

“Large room with old but functional furniture (old style decoration). 3 shared bathrooms : shower without curtains or walls but you get used to it (water goes everywhere on the ground when you’re having a shower). Tip : Take your flip flops with you if you don’t want to walk in the water after having your shower. We slept very well (good beds). Tip : take your earplugs if you don’t want to hear anything.”
