Some of our other great hostel features include:- FREE WI-FI - BAR - Breakfast (a la carte) available from 7 am to noon - Food available all day - Patio - All non-smoking bedrooms - Air conditioning - Great walking tours, bike tours and FREE TOURS - Supermarket around the corner- FREE city maps - Safe paid car parking nearby - FREE hot showers 24h - No lockout - No curfew - 24 HOUR CHECK-IN (you can check-in ANYTIME after 3PM, the reception is always open, so you don't need to tell us your estimated arrival time) All our PRIVATE ROOMS are equipped with: - private en-suite bathroom - independent air-conditioning and heating- a safety deposit box - a hair dryer - FREE Wi-Fi. Rome CITY TAX is NOT INCLUDED in the price of your bed and is payable directly in cash at the reception. The amount is 3,50€ PER PERSON PER NIGHT IN CASH.

Detailed Reviews
Stayed at YellowSquare for 5D 4N in August, in one of their private rooms with a double bed.
The room was of decent quality, with a functional en suite bathroom, and I can't recall being disturbed excessively by surrounding noise.
The hostel stands out for the abundance of facilities - the bar opposite the hostel which is great for meeting traveller comrades, lounge and even a hair salon!
Location means a half an hour walk or so to the key tourist sites, and only a five minute walk from the train station.
Reccomended if you are staying in Rome

Aside from the location, the hostel is very clean and the beds are quite comfortable. The downside is, this is a party hostel and if your room is next to the street then it would be very noisy at night because of the hostel bar. Some of the hostel & bar staff are friendly and some are very snobbish and one is very annoying (i think his name is James and he's an Indian Italian). The party at the basement is really fun but only a few chosen ones are allowed to party there- if you are not that pretty and you look boring then sorry they won't let you join. BUT If you are with cool party people then you can go in. I was able to join the party lots of times and what I noticed is that, if you are friends with the staff then you surely can join the party regardless if you are a hostel guest or not. Fortunately, the coffee and croissants are so cheap at the bar, so make sure to buy your morning coffee there. All in all, I would still go back because of the location and I would request a room far from the street. ;)

A great stay here! Very welcoming and friendly in reception! The socials spaces were easy to access as well as clean. Rooms were large and extremely well set up with sharing bathroom and lockers and safes included. The bar across the street was well priced and everyone was very friendly! I would highly recommend this hostel if visiting Rome its close to the metro and station making it easy to access different areas

DON'T BOOK!Â
I've been travelling for the past 5 months, have been to 12 cities a whole bunch of hostels and I can point out that Yellow Square Rome is the worst hostel I've been to. From check in, everything has been a crap experience.Â
When I checked in, nobody showed me anything of the hostel, I was told my room was upstairs and that's about it. I had to figure everything out myself.Â
The room is decent, so that's why you get one point.
The full hostel is signposted with no alcohol from outside signs, no food, and full of prohibitions. You can't even bring visit according to the signs. You can't even bring alcohol or food in your room, so if you have spent the whole day working and fancy a glass or two of wine in your room, nope.!ts against the rules and you will be fined. They want you to spend money in their overpriced and crappy attempt of a bar.Â
The staff are simple and plain RUDE!Â
Not a single smile, not a simple please or thank you everytime you interact with them.Â
The music they play is the receptionsts pick, absolutely depressing music and zero ambiance. Other guests also detest it.Â
I brought down my speaker to the bar area and asked if I could please play my music and the answer was a straight no. I asked why? He said, I already told your friend, NO!Â
This is a really crappy way to treat customers.Â
Bloody signs all over the place like we are kids and we are all paying adults and the price for what you get isn't anything special.Â
It's sad because it's the last hostel I'm staying in before I go home after 5 amazing months.Â
They just suck your money and don't respect you as a customer. I've spoken to 4 other guests who share this view.

I felt super comfortable and safe at this hostel (as a solo traveler that's high on my priority list), the staff were all extremely friendly and helpful. The lounge area and bar are great for meeting other travelers and the location is just a few minutes away from the main station and not a very far walk from the main attractions in Rome. 10/10 recommend!

When I did an Interrail trip last summer, I stayed in the Yellow twice. I’d definitely recommend it to anyone who is looking for an affordable and safe place to stay where they can also meet other travellers.
I love the whole concept of this place. Especially, the bar is a highlight as it’s a great place to meet new people. Hostel guests get discount and there’s free pasta at 6pm! Moreover, they usually have live music or live dj sets on the weekend.
It’s not far from the main train station, so perfect for anyone travelling by train. Also they offer free tours which is fun as well and they have partners where you get discount too.

I’ve stayed in a few hostel every time I wanted to travel but this place is really the one I enjoyed the less. I’ve stayed in a dorm for my first night in Italy, and in a private room when I came back to Rome a week later.
The hostel is super noisy! A guy came back in the room obviously from the pub downstairs and was super noisy, turning on the light at 2 am and obviously didn’t care about anyone. Then an other one decided to start packing at 5am. Same night, this was too much!
The private room was also very noisy with people walking in and out in the corridor. The room was smelly, the walls not very clean and I could have a view on the trash.
The staff was not helpful and almost rude. Seem like they were bored to answer any questions. The breakfast : come on, carbonara omelet is disgusting and with just an orange juice this was crazy expensive!
I moved to an other place just a night later. If you’re not a party monster don’t go there!!!!
I will definitely not recommend yellowsquare! You can find way better private room for the same price or cheaper. Just don’t stop there!

I loved the hostel, it was clean, spacious, very nice staff, good location, easy to socialise and meet people in the bar.
I booked a dorm with beds with courtains - there were no courtains, so we got ourselfs extra sheets as courtains.
We were a group of 3 ppl and we booked our stay with a breakfast and we paid extra for the breakfast, but the bar serving food was closed on sunday so we didn't get our meals nor refund and noone bothered answering my few e-mails asking for the refund. So didn't get breakfast nir money back.
So the hostel is amazing but management not really.

I had the best time here. The location is super convenient, a few blocks from Metro stations and the Roma Termini train, bus and metro station. The place has everything you need to relax before or after a long day walking the city, a great bar that gets lit at night and serves breakfast in the morning. Couldn't try the restaurant Mama's Angela but heard great things about it too. Eduardo took really good care of us by making sure we felt accommodated and by providing us with good tips for sightseeing. Prices of stay, food, and bar are also very affordable compared to other places in Rome. I definitely would have loved to stay longer. Thanks for the great service!

The yellow is a really good place to stay. Nice rooms and baths. I think that the only bad think about it is that you have to pay a lot if you wanna drink there inside the club. The cheapest beer is 4,4 eur and also you CAN'T drink inside the hostel with something bought outside!

Thanks for your comment! We are happy that you enjoyed your experience at Yellow! Our lounge room is an only relax place where people can read a book, socialize or even take a nap, not adapt for drinking. Prices of our Bar are on average being located in the city center of Rome. Until next time, enjoy your travels!

Hi Suzie.. I've got a shared bedroom and all the shared bathrooms had hairdryer.. About private rooms, I can't say...
Hey there, thanks for your question! We usually have Karaoke nights every Saturday. But sometime we add an extra night during the week, so I would say it depends on the period you will be visiting us. For more information you can find all the events per day on our Facebook page: The Yellow Bar, or our official site YellowSquare
Hey there! Yes, you can book a room at YellowSquare with card at any time :)
It only depends on the availability for the period you are looking to book. Cheers
