The start of our stay at the hotel (we had reservations) began with being informed they were full for our first night. However, they took us to their sister location, the I.Q. Hotel which was beautiful. When returned the next day to the Hotel Diocleziano, the management placed us in room 501, their best room, to make amends. We were... More

Having visited Rome last year, we decided to take the boys with us to see the sights. Last time we stayed up near Piazza del Popolo, but this time wanted to be more in the centre. Was not expecting much for the price, but was VERY surprised by this gem of a find! Yes, it is not in a pretty... More

We stayed in this Hotel for 3 nights and can thoroughly recommend it as a base for your stay in Rome. It is so convenient. Walking distance to the main station and the Hop-on Hop off bus terminal and some excellent restaurants at the end of the quiet street where it is placed. Very little traffic and convenient. The breakfasts... More

Stayed here for 4 nights in mid September - fantastic location just minutes walk from Termini Train Station - great rooms and facilities, nice breakfast and great staff. Right next to the National Roman Museum - Baths of Diocletian as well as the Michelangelo designed Church of Santa Maria degli Angeli e Dei Martiri - where he reused much of... More

First time in Rome and my husband & I stayed here for 3 nights. From the minute we walked into the hotel lobby the whole staff were friendly and very helpful. Doreen at the front desk went out of her way far more then expected when I was having problems with my cell phone. I am very grateful to her.... More

We chose this hotel because it was close to the train station. From the first moment we got there we were greeted in the friendliest of manners by the bellboy, Sherwin. The desk staff were very friendly and accommodating as well. The breakfast buffet was amazing and the breakfast staff was equally amazing. We truly enjoyed our two night stay... More

Bottom line, this is a great find; thank you trip advisor. Usually I stay very close to termini – usually at another hotel that costs about 25% more. This hotel was a slightly longer walk, maybe two minutes more?, And I ended up with a beautiful little balcony. Who knew?! I'm booking this hotel from now on

Loved our stay at this hotel, possibly one of my best hotel experiences. Very clean and modern, one of the most comfortable beds I have ever slept in and the waterfall shower was great. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. We had tried to upgrade our room a week before arriving, but there were none available. We then arrived... More

Staying in Esquilino

Neighbourhood Profile
Esquilino
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighbourhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighbourhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic centre. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
