Our second stay at Le Clarisse. Wonderful location.... near tram stop and buses into centre. Room was comfortable with a terrace overlooking the garden. Desk and breakfast staff were helpful and welcoming. Breakfasts were continental with lots of choice.Hotel is in middle of Trastevere which offers bars, restaurants and a local ambience. The Vatican , the Gianicolo, and sites of...

Loved our room Ulivo, jacuzzi bath, good shower. Nice wooden furniture, tea, coffee and mini bar. Good selection of nearby bars and restaurants so after a long day seeing the sights you don't have far to go for great food. Special mention of the front desk staff, friendly and very helpful. Particularly Gloria who answered most questions with 'of course'!...

If you want a hotel close to good bars and restaurants then this well placed as there are plenty within easy walking distance. The room we stayed in was comfortable enough although it was a walk outside on the street and round the corner from reception it was quite quirky when back inside. A slight downside was the breakfast as...

This was my first trip to Rome, and I was extremely happy with my experience at the Relais Le Clarisse Iin Trastevere. We stayed in the Girasole room, and it was clean and comfortable. We enjoyed the private terrace attached to this room. The location is convenient to everywhere you would want to go in Rome, but a quieter neighborhood...

La Clarisse in Trastevere has a lot going for it: > great location in Trastevere with a myriad of restaurants and bars within minutes walk > right next to tram line 8 into the city - tickets available from the kiosk near the tram stop - €1.50 for a single ticket > 15-20 minutes walk to the Colesseum > great...

Our room was called 'la mimoza' and it was very clean and warm, even when the aircondition was not on (our stay was on November). The staff was helpful and always keen to inform us about what to do and see in the neighbourhood. The hotel is quite close to piazza Venezia, considering you have to take the tram (#8)...

There are several really good reasons to highly recommend this lovely hotel: it's beautiful (our room was in a carefully preserved former convent), it's near lots of restaurants and within walking distance of lots of tourist sites but MOST OF ALL because of the wonderful staff there. My passport was stolen within minutes of our arrival in Rome and the...

Good-for-value rooms in stunning Trastevere, near the crowds and most sights but distant enough to be a haven of tranquility. The only drawback is the higher risk of missing breakfast. We've been 5 times in Rome and this hotel was the best value we had.

Dear Guest, it is always a great pleasure to read such happy experiences, but it is mostly flattering when they come from "Roman experts" such as you are! Thank you so much for sharing it, we truly hope to welcome you again next time! Sincerely

Had a great stay at Relais like Clarisse. The room was nice and big, and clean. the staff were very helpful with any questions we had, and gave us some good restaurant recommendations. The breakfast was standard Italian. Would have liked some more choice, especially with regards to the toppings. The hotel has a very nice and secluded courtyard, and...

Staying in Trastevere

Neighbourhood Profile
Trastevere
Trastevere ("beyond the Tiber") is like a faded postcard, a little worn around the edges but still charming. With its wide-open piazzas, meandering streets, weathered Renaissance buildings, and overgrown personality, it's become an irresistible mecca for visitors. Trastevere is an enclave of entertainment - a rotating set of street performers entertains almost every night, and unforgettable eateries and bars pepper its piazzas and side streets. For a trip to the past, visit the southern and western flanks of Trastevere for pockets of yesteryear, less traversed areas with a residual 1960s and 70s Roman vibe.
