With my daughter, we spent almost a week at Il Boom and found it very nice and charming. We had the feeling to be at home in Roma and could easily rest in this beautiful home decorated with taste and vintage pieces. Special mention for the great 'all you can eat breakfast" in the nice open kitchen and living room...

Many thanks for your excellent and lovely review! It was a real pleasure having you and your daughter at our place, and I'm happy you enjoyed so much your stay in Rome and at Il Boom B&B. Good luck for your vacation in Lisbon next year, but I hope also you will like to come back here soon :)

A lovely room with a little balcony and good view west across the Tiber. We had a separate private bathroom, which isn't ideal but I think we're probably spoiled by years of having en-suite. There was a good range of food for breakfast in a wonderful room on the roof, with a wonderful terrace to sit and enjoy the sunshine...

Open breakfast room stocked like a home! 3 kinds of yogurts, crteals, breads, cookies, cakes, fruit galore. My husband made expresso & fresh squeezed juice every morning. Gracious & Helpful owner and unbelievably patient in helping with directions etc. Umbrellas provided...

Il Boom provides an incredible experience in Rome. I stayed for four nights, 28 March and left 1 April. If I was not scheduled to move on to Paris, I would have so enjoyed staying longer and it is by far my number #1 choice for staying in Rome, better than other B and Bs and certainly no comparison to...

I do not find useful words to describe my wonder and my happiness in reading the beautiful, intense, articulate, passionate, affectionate, practical and dreamy story of your holiday at our B&B! My BIG THANK YOU is nothing compared to the great words that you used to make everyone understand how beautiful it is to spend a few vacation days in...

We stayed in March for three nights. The accommodation is beautiful and excellently located. Angelo is a welcoming post. The view from the apartment is amazing. The breakfast was extremely good and locally produced. The room we had was a little noisy due to traffic outside but it did not bother us.

A warm welcome to a lovely B&B with very spacious rooms and bathroom. You feel at home in less than 10 minutes. The breakfast is fresh and good, more than enough to choose from. The fact that you can have breakfast all morning and decide to eat out on the terrace or inside is a plus. Having a pinball machine...

Il Boom is an exceptional B&B. The rooms are charming, stylish and beautifully decorated and worth seeing in themselves. Breakfast was thoughtfully provided, with lots of variety and amazing views from the terrace. I did not get to meet Angelo unfortunately, but communication was excellent and he remained in contact to ensure our stay was perfect. We were also well...

From the off this B&B impressed. Angelo dealt patiently with our late arrival with a warm welcome that we did not deserve. I had expected the B&B to have style having seen the pictures, but this surpassed our expectations. We were simply wowed. It avoided being pretentious and simply oozed charm, interest and beauty to our eager eyes. The breakfast...

Staying in Trastevere

Neighbourhood Profile
Trastevere
Trastevere ("beyond the Tiber") is like a faded postcard, a little worn around the edges but still charming. With its wide-open piazzas, meandering streets, weathered Renaissance buildings, and overgrown personality, it's become an irresistible mecca for visitors. Trastevere is an enclave of entertainment - a rotating set of street performers entertains almost every night, and unforgettable eateries and bars pepper its piazzas and side streets. For a trip to the past, visit the southern and western flanks of Trastevere for pockets of yesteryear, less traversed areas with a residual 1960s and 70s Roman vibe.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The Bed & Breakfast IL BOOM is in a large apartment (where owners’ family lives) located on the attic floor and penthouse of an early 20th-century building, without lift/elevator, offering a breathtaking view over Rome. Up to 2005 this apartment has been just our home. We restored it with our taste and passion for the three decades (fifties, sixties, seventies) when Rome and Italy made progress and opened up to the world and culture. We tried to save what we could (vintage floors, ceilings, doors, full-length window), and maintain the Roman atmosphere of our place. One of the unique feature of our apartment are the two splendid terraces, equipped with deck-chairs and umbrellas, where guests can sunbathe and enjoy the romantic atmosphere of the Eternal City. On-site amenities furthermore include a comfortable lounge/kitchen, a PC with internet access, and wireless Internet access throughout the apartment. The Bed and Breakfast IL BOOM enjoys an excellent position in the heart of Rome, on the legendary Gianicolo Hill, along a beautiful tree-lined avenue in the charming Trastevere district, one of the city's most ancient and picturesque neighbourhoods. We are located in a quiet and secluded residential area, at a few minutes walking from the most important artistic, archeological, cultural sites of the city.Vatican City is just across Gianicolo Hill (half an hour walking through Fontanone - a monumental fountain - and Piazza Garibaldi - the most beautiful view of the city. Campo de Fiori, Piazza Farnese, Piazza Navona, Pantheon, Tiber Island, Campidoglio, all the historical center is just under our place. Restaurants, pizzerias, bars, pubs, any kind of shops are at five minutes walking. And we have also very efficient and close public transportation (daily and nightly): Bus 44, 75, 870, H; tram 8. The Bed and Breakfast Il Boom offers 3 spacious double guest rooms (Loren, Magnani and Vitti), each featuring an elegant private bathroom and ample wardrobes. Individually decorated in an attractive 50's, 60's and 70's style, the rooms are named after three famous Italian movie stars of that period: Anna Magnani, Sophia Loren and Monica Vitti. Each room is large and very light, with high plastered ceiling. Room Loren is the quietest one because it gives onto Villa Sciarra (a small public park) and nearby gardens. It features a small private en-suite bathroom with shower, and a flat screen TV. Room Magnani has a window with a wonderful view over Rome. It features an external (just in front of the room itself) very large private bathroom with large jacuzzi bathtub and shower. It has a flat screen TV. A single bed can be added. Room Vitti has a balcony and a window with a wonderful view over Rome. It features an external (just outside the room itself) private black & white bathroom with shower. It has a flat screen TV, and a double sofa bed. All accommodations are strictly non-smoking and equipped with independent air conditioning, centralized heating, hair dryer, and wireless Internet connection. A delicious self-service continental breakfast, with home-made cakes and biscuits, toasts, jam, yogurt, fruit juice, milk, tea and coffee, is at guests' disposal in the kitchen. Breakfast can be enjoyed in the dining area or on the outdoor terrace, whenever you prefer, at any time until 1 p.m. ... more   less
