We began our tour of Italy at Obelus b&b and returned to end our stay at the Obelus b&b as well. We did thoroughly enjoyed our time here. From the beautiful clean rooms with high sealings, to the delicious breakfast with pastries and cappuccino to the little touches like the self service cookie jar and coffe at the end of... More

I stayed here with my girlfriend for 3 nights, and we couldn't have received a better service from Therese and Carola. It is spotlessly clean, a great location with easy access to the main sites, metro and buses, and a really helpful concierge service from the legendary Therese & Carola! It's important to note a couple of things. Firstly, a... More

[If booking with Obelus, make sure you are booking through the correct website! This B&B has become so popular that a rival located 2-3 blocks over is listing its website under the Obelus B&B name on Google maps. Make sure the website you hit is as follows: [--] and that either Therese or Carola are corresponding with you] We stayed... More

The Obelus was the perfect place for us. It is close to the San Giovanni metro stop, the Colliseum and Forum, good restaurants, markets, etc. The room was spacious, clean and modern. Terese and Carola were wonderfully welcoming and helpful. Breakfast consisted of a croissant, cereal, yogurt and plenty of coffee and juice. My husband and I stayed there for... More

My husband and I stayed at the Obelus B & B during our honeymoon in Italy from the 17th to 19th September 2007. Before we even arrived we were impressed - on arrival at the Tiburtina bus station in Rome we were not sure how to find the place so telephoned the proprietors, who were incredibly friendly and gave us... My husband and I spent 3 nights at this lovely b& b. The location was very quiet and close to the metro and San Giovani Church (be sure to see) and the Holy Stairs. Also, a very nice 15 minute walk to the Coluseum where there were also a number of outside dining restaurants nearby. We enjoyed Gelato here more... More

We were a little skeptical when booking at the Obelus, but it couldn't have been nicer. They are extremely friendly, and try to do everything to make sure you have a good stay. After leaving Rome we were spoiled for the rest of our trip! I would highly recommend it to any friend travelling to Rome!

Myself and a friend stayed for 4 nights at the Obelus B&B. We searched endless sites to find a B&B with good recommendations, availability and a sensible price. Obelus fitted all of the criteria. The B&B is situated on a quiet street in the pretty San Giovani area of the city. It's 5 minutes from the stunning San Giovani in... More

This place is wonderful! The proprietors are relatively new to the business, but have the energy, friendliness, and work ethic to excel. It was like staying at a friend's home, very welcoming and comfortable. The managment is available 24/7 by cell phone, you have your own key to come and go, and breakfast is prepared on site fresh every morning... More

I stayed in Obelus B & B with my girlfriend over a long weekend in September. The property is situated close to San Giovanni and the Colliseum which was very convenient and Therese and Carola went out of their way to make us feel very welcome. The room we stayed in was moderate to small in size and impeccably clean.... More

Staying in Esquilino

Neighbourhood Profile
Esquilino
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighbourhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighbourhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic centre. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
