Welcome to Hotel Indigo Rome - St. George. The hotel boasts a privileged position for discovering the wonders of the Eternal City. 5 star luxury boutique hotel located in the enchanting Via Giulia, in the heart of the historic center of Rome, a few steps from Piazza Navona, Campo de' Fiori, Castel Sant'Angelo and the Vatican Museums. The boutique Hotel Indigo® Rome - St. George is characterized by an atmosphere full of charm and history. The ancient Renaissance walls surround the contemporary design environments and the modern interiors blend perfectly with important historical testimonies. The large travertine stones on the facade, which come from the Colosseum, recall the shape of modern sofas. The building's Renaissance style and travertine marble walls decorate the lobby, restaurant and bar, all examples of great eras. During the summer season, the restaurant moves to the internal courtyard and the bar moves to the panoramic roof terrace weather permitting.

Hotel Indigo Rome - St. George has earned a reputation for impeccable service, with many guests appreciating the staff's professionalism and warmth. The cleanliness of the hotel is consistently applauded, ensuring a spotless stay for travelers. While the amenities, including the rooftop bar and prime location, receive positive remarks, a few visitors have noted the spa could use an update and the bathrooms may feel cramped. The hotel's atmosphere and design are generally celebrated, although opinions on room size and value for money can vary, with some guests expecting more. Despite these mixed views, the central yet quiet location is a highlight for visitors.

My wife, teenage daughter and myself stayed at the Hotel Indigo in a Junior Suite and really enjoyed the experience. The staff were very polite and helpful, the food was great (both breakfast and dinner) and the rooms were very clean and tidy with an excellent shower.

We weren't sure how noisy it would be being in the centre of room but we had no problems with noise in the hotels location.

The price of food and drinks in the hotel is on par with any of the restaurants around the similar location so the prices are quite reasonable.

On checkout the hotel staff were able to mind our bags for the day whilst we saw the last of the sights and were able to order a taxi to the airport within 5 minutes which was great.

Overall I'd highly recommend this hotel whether travelling for holiday or for business.

Having been to Rome many times, I wanted to find a hotel that was calm, comfortable and within walking distance to the major sites; and the Indigo St. George did not disappoint! Our room was great, AC worked amazingly well as Rome was blazing hot, total calm as we were on the 1st floor and our room looked over the pergola covering the breakfast room. The Terrace on the room is wonderful, as is the team, we had great experiences with everyone and especially Maria on the Terrace and Orietta and Franco at the reception. The street the hotel is located on, Via Giulia, is really quiet bit you are a close walk to the Vatican, Trastevere, Coliseum, etc. Hotel prices were insane due to the huge tourist masses visiting but we felt like we got value for our money. We will definitely return here!

I came to Rome with my partner and seven-year old daughter. Despite it being possibly the worst time to visit Rome (late July/early August in the middle of a heat wave/heat warning) and a bit of a stressful trip in general, the hotel was a true oasis. The people who worked there did absolutely everything to make us feel comfortable and welcome and the room was absolutely beautiful and was spotlessly cleaned every time, despite the many messes we made. We also really enjoyed having breakfasts in the courtyard and even though in our case they weren't covered as a part of our stay, we decided to eat there every morning because we enjoyed it so much and the waitstaff was so kind, especially to my daughter. The location is also very convenient to many of the historical sites in Rome and the Vatican, while still remaining quiet and a little set aside from the tourist hustle and bustle on the neighboring streets. All in all, I strongly recommend the hotel and would absolutely go back.

We stayed in this hotel last week for 4 nights in a superior king room.
The reception staff were very welcoming and helpful with regards to the hotel's position and nearby attractions.
The room was immaculate and cleaned daily to a very high standard. It was a quiet room and all of the fittings, fixtures and toiletries were of excellent quality.
The daily breakfast was plentiful and fresh - breakfast staff were all very attentive.
We spent our days walking many miles across Rome to see everything on our list! The sites are all amazing and can be easily accessed on foot - we learnt so much! I booked a couple of tours of the Colosseum and the Vatican through Florence town / Towns of Italy...these were both superb, well organised and worth paying for in advance.
The hotel is situated in a wonderful area close to many high quality restaurants - we enjoyed all of our meals!
We were disappointed that the hotel forgot our special wedding anniversary having been informed of this by our travel agent, and also that the spa pool was closed. especially as this was one of my reasons for booking the hotel.

I took a taxi from the Termini station to this hotel — it was a relatively quick trip.

When I arrived, the woman at reception was friendly, helpful and efficient, pointing out the spa hours. But as I was in Rome for just one evening on this trip, I had other plans, and chose to drop off my things and head out to dinner. I asked to book a car to the airport for the next morning, but she (justly) suggested to have the morning staff call for a taxi in the morning for a cheaper price.

My room was extremely beautiful, modern, comfortable, and in spite of the location, was very quiet. As the room was warm, I was able to open the window just enough to cool it down a bit. Linens were comfortable and white, and the bed was comfortable as well. Lighting was ample, something I love in hotels. It also had USB plugs for electronics at the bedside, a mini-bar, a safe, an ironing board & iron, an ample-sized closet (I was able to fit my smaller luggage on the luggage rack *in* the closet to save on room space), a desk, and a small seating area, and room slippers.

What I really loved about this room was its lovely, big bathroom, generously soft towels, and amazing shower — large for for a European hotel — which switched from a handheld to a rain shower. The water controls were conveniently located at the shower entry, and the water was 100% warm from the start. There was never a wait for hot water (so less waste!). Products were lovely as well: The Rerum Nature body wash, shampoo, conditioner and body lotion, and a mini-bar soap for the sink.

While I did not dine here for dinner, I loved that the property had this option with a restaurant. Unfortunately, breakfast started long after I had to catch my taxi for my flight.

I was a bit nervous to walk back to the hotel after dark, never having stayed in this area before, but I had no problems. It’s quite close to the Vatican, and to the Ponte Sant’Angelo.

As a Kimpton property, they honored my Kimpton points.

Would I stay again: voluntarily!! I was comfortable in every way. And I loved the room’s design choices. Would I recommend this hotel: absolutely!

We are just back from a 4 night stay at the Hotel Indigo Rome with friends. I would not hesitate to recommend the hotel. The location was perfect for us - 10 minute walk to Vatican City, about 30 minutes from the Colosseum. The lobby and bar areas were beautifully maintained and tranquil. We had excellent service from the bar who recommended wines for us to try which we loved! Breakfast was delicious every day with huge choice and, again, lovely staff who couldn't do enough for us. Sorry I didn't get their names but they were all brilliant.

Orietta on the front desk had booked us a transfer from the airport which ran smoothly - 95 Euros for 4 people and 4 suitcases door to door which we thought was very reasonable. Her communication was excellent and she was also there to check us in and she was super efficient. Jimmy booked us our return taxi to the airport with the same excellent service.

We had booked a standard room each and my husband and I found our room very warm on the first night so before we went to bed we mentioned to reception that our air con wasn't working but we were told that the air con was switch to heat for the winter and we were advised to switch the control off so it wasn't heating the room which we did. We were also offered a fan which helped and we were happy with that. The next morning we had a phone call from reception offering us a different room with an air conditioning unit. We moved rooms and were delighted with the wonderful service from the hotel. Enzo, who had brought us the fan, came to show us the room and then helped us move our bags. Superb service again.

As this was our first visit to Rome we intend to return and will definitely stay at the Hotel Indigo again.

I had a great experience at Hotel Indigo Rome. First, it was conveniently located on a beautiful quiet street near good restaurants and a lively piazza. It’s only a short walking distance to the river and bridge to Trastevere. It’s close to many points of interest including Piazza Navona, the Pantheon and Spanish Steps. For further locations, the hotel would arrange a taxi which would come within five minutes. I enjoyed light snacks and wine on the beautiful rooftop bar which was always a nice little break during the hot summer afternoons. I had a premium room with a king size bed and it was extremely comfortable. They also had turn down service. The bathroom had ample counter space and there was a very large closet area to store clothes. The shower was magnificent. I don’t recall if my room had a balcony or a view since it was so hot the week that I was in Rome and kept the window and curtain closed. Thankfully the A/C worked very well. The mini bar was well stocked with refreshments and beverages and the first round was complimentary. Each morning there was a nice array of breakfast options to choose from the buffet and dine outside in a cute little garden area. Finally, the staff were so nice starting with reception when we arrived and all the people we encountered throughout our stay. I recommend highly and definitely want to return here the next time we are in Rome which I hope will be soon. Loved Rome!

I was pleasantly surprised by this hotel which is a much nicer place to stay than its facade, decor, and address promise. The front desk staff were amazing - going above and beyond in a family emergency. I can’t praise them enough. The waitstaff at breakfast were delightful. The rooms were comfortable with great linens, lovely firm beds and a selection of pillows.. The bathrooms were perfect with great water pressure, a hand held and a rain shower. So why didn’t I give it a five? The lobby bar never opened during our four day stay and the lobby was dark and choppy rather than cozy, which was probably just as well because the American soft rock and jazz were played at a volume that made sitting there unpleasant. Since the rooms were supplied with only one stingy low uncomfortable chair, the only place to congregate was the roof deck (more about the roof restaurant later) which was accessible by only one of the hotel’s two tiny rickety elevators. I understand that older buildings often have tiny elevators but these had problems during the length of our stay. I mentioned the decor earlier which really detracted from the appearance of the rooms. The attempt at decor edginess was neither stylish nor complementary to the hotel architecture. Please just paint over the big auto graphics. The view is pretty nice from the roof but I would not recommend eating there. The roof staff were complete opposites to the rest of the hotel staff. Slow, unhelpful and not particularly nice. We agreed that the food was the dullest and most pretentious of all the restaurants we visited in Rome.
That all sounds pretty negative but I might just return anyway because after all a really comfortable (except for the chair) room and attentive helpful staff are the measure of a good hotel. Dinner can be had elsewhere.

This hotel is in a great quiet location and centrally located within a 20 min walk to all major attractions. However that being said, this hotel is extremely noisy inside, every time someone within our hallway closes their door its so loud (we were lucky enough to get neighbors who are in and out of their rooms every 15 minutes 😁😁) the people above us were moving furniture across the floor and dropping things from 10:30-12:30 last night and between that and the door slams I ended up sleeping with noise cancelling headphones on. Our tub did not drain properly, while they do have AC it doesn’t work well, and lastly for the price point the rooms are outdated.

This was the last hotel out of 4 that we stayed in within our 12 day trip and we specifically chose it because we wanted a quiet hotel to celebrate our wedding anniversary and it was the one I was most looking forward to, unfortunately it was hands down my least favorite and we will not be returning.

If you are a light sleeper and need a cool room to sleep, I would not recommend this hotel especially for the amount of $$$ per night we paid for it.

The hotel used to be the St. pietro but was taken over by the Indigo a few years ago. It has always been immaculate and a 5 star hotel. I have stayed in rooms facing the street and the windows can open. Parking is in a private garage close by.
