Run down, rude staff in a section of town that made me afraid to walk at night. I am a karate black belt and my son is 22; we don't scare easily... but we did in this neighborhood. I strongly suggest you stay just about anywhere else.

Budget Hotel within a short walk from station. Manager went out of his way to make our stay comfortable and would not hesitate to stay there again. the hotel staff excel in customer service. we were offered breakfast at no charge which consisted of a coffe and one pastry which I thought was a lovely gesture

I needed a nice place to stay for a night with my boyfriend and it was awesome ! The man from the reception was so nice to us, and the price was very good. It has a really central location, near the subway and there are lots of restaurants around. The room was big and clean, with a beautiful balcony...

We stayed at this hotel last week & found the staff to be very pleasant & so helpful. The hotel is in a good location and we were recommended this place by a taxi driver so when we turned up they accommodated us straight away & gave us a room with a little outdoor seating area which was fantastic. The...

Staying in Esquilino

Neighbourhood Profile
Esquilino
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighbourhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighbourhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic centre. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
