If you are an American used to big chains, this will not dazzle you. But if you want to experience a charming, utterly European style hotel with cozy rooms, a great location (a few blocks to the Vatican) and a nice breakfast, this is for you. Using the elevator is a unique experience in itself, and that's part of the...

I really can't say enough good things about our experience with the Relais dei Papa. Guisseppe and his staff were extremely helpful and helped make our first trip to Rome a memorable one. He gave us detailed directions about navigating the city, made dinner (on New Years Eve) and trip reservations for us, and made sure our stay was comfortable....

I had a dream about this place, well, in life dreams come true!!! I had a wonderful oppertunity to meet the owners, the sweetest people in the world! I have stayed in some of the best hotels any where from Beverly Hills to Barcelona, I love this place due to the style of the colours, the fact that the people...

Great location, walking distance to the Vatican and the Coliseum. Great service and very clean hotel. Breakfast included and very good. Staff was very helpful and planned all our transfer from the airport to the Hotel and the cruise terminal.

We were in Rome for one night and I booked this hotel two days before our stay, primarily because it's a 10min stroll to the Vatican and we had an early morning Vatican tour the next day. It's quirky, small, the lift is ancient (but works perfectly well), although you have to carry your luggage up a flight of stairs...

Our room was at the end of the hall and street side, but we never were disturbed by noise. The room was small, but comfortable. Bathroom was small, but negotiable. AND it was clean! Breakfast was nice. Honestly, I never worry about small rooms when the only thing I'm going to do is sleep in them. My only semi-complaint is...

Room so small had to walk sideways to get around bed, could not close shower due to size, bed was so awful. Exhaustion was only reason we slept. The pictures on website are nothing like room we actually were given. Luggage from ground level to elevator on first floor, ancient elevator and the climb to appropriate floor was a jolt....

Nice hotel to relax and regroup for all the sight seeing that we did. Nice shower and clean. Would pack ear plugs if light sleeper for hallway noise at times, but other than that slept like a baby. Helpful staff

Typical European small rooms- but perfectly adequate and exceptionally clean with a great shower. Location is good but the best part is that it is not in an exceptionally touristy area- local restaurants, markets, etc. staff were helpful but in true typical Italian customer service fashion, no one goes above and beyond. Nothing bad mind you, just not the exceptionally...

Near the Vatican museum & walking to the old sections of Rome, this hotel was quite adequate. Main issue is the elevator is on the first floor so one needs to walk from/to the Ground floor to have a ride. Inconvenient when carrying luggage or purchased treasures. The breakfast was plentiful and selection was good. Rooms are small and the...

Staying in Prati

Neighbourhood Profile
Prati
Just steps away from the chaos of the centre, Prati is the closest Rome gets to calm. Meticulously planned in a neat grid, quite unlike neighbouring Borgo, Prati is a local favourite for its aesthetic organisation and wide streets lined with a range of boutiques for every shopping fantasy. Nonnis pushing baby carriages and gossiping teens own every inch of the sidewalk, but that’s only during business hours. Once the sun sets, quirky sidestreet bars celebrate aperitivo hour, those evening cocktails that help wash away the tensions of Roman life.
