The rooms are very small. Also the bathroom is very narrow. It looks different in the pictures. For breakfast, there is only yogurt, coffee (tea) and one croissant, which is hung on the door of the room in the morning. You have to eat breakfast in the room where you sleep and there is no separate space for it. Once we were not served breakfast at all. The location is nit good. The nearby subway is not working and is closed (you cannot use it).

Easy 10 minute walk from Termini, this hotel has everything! An outstanding staff, great breakfasts and clean, comfortable rooms. The bath room is a bit small but functional and very clean and modern. Clsoe to the Metro. 10 minutes to the Colosseum and 20 minutes to the city center. Other reviews cover the tricks to find the entrance.

This very small hotel is located in a non-descript apartment building -- so it is hard to find. Luckily, two very nice Romans stopped and helped point us in the right direction. It was an easy walk from the Termini train station. It has an elevator (small), which was nice, too. The room was small, very clean and comfortable. It was just off of the front desk area, however, which concerned me because it was easy to hear everything being said at the desk. However, after about 10 p.m. it quieted down nicely and we weren't disturbed during the night at all. The clerk directed us to a nice restaurant for dinner. Breakfast was good, substantial, and served in our room. I would definitely stay here again.

This room is not a hotel as advertised on booking.com. It’s a selection of tiny rooms in a building in a very grubby area. The road noise level and paper thin walls to other rooms, was such that we didn’t get much sleep and the tiny space made it so only 1 could open a suitcase. Whilst the room was clean the rate of $350au did no way reflect what was on offer. Having stayed in a similar style of accommodation only 3 weeks before just a short distance away, I feel validated in giving this review. At our previous accommodation at vimmile hill, the roads were quiet, the rooms a comfortable size and the rates were far less in a much cleaner area, sadly they were booked out and we took this place instead. I can’t recommend this accommodation as it’s a very budget style stop at high prices in a bad area. It was not the place we even booked but having arrived at that address we were then contacted via email, to walk to another address. The room was smaller than what we booked but we were told these rooms were the same. This accommodation Actually spoilt our last few days in Rome.
I would like to note however the cleaning staff were lovely as was the gentleman attending our checkin. Management needs to lift their standards.

We had a reservation for March. Due to the covid-19 pandemic situation we decided to cancel the reservation on the March 9th, we had the free cancellation until March 17th. The hotel said that will refun the money, but then started with excusses. Their phones are disconnetcted. They are not replying for more than a month, we have been insisting almost daily. Simply are disonest and have a really bad customer service. Mr Mark, i'm awaiting for my money back.

I will start by saying the room was good and the cleaning and breakfast staff were good. The office and particularly the inability to answer their telephone was very frustrating.
We arrived at 4PM on a Thursday and there was no signage at the front of the building to indicate that the hotel was there. When we finally got directions to the 3rd floor, the reception was locked and no one answered the door bell.
No one answered the telephone on the reservation either.
Finally a staff member arrived with a bag of food and let us in.
He informed us we were 'upgraded' to another building and walked us over a block or two.
The hotel 'Marta Inn' was clearly just an old apartment made into three hotel rooms with a shared kitchen. This was adequate and we largely enjoyed our room. The bed was firm, the air conditioning cold, but the hot water never exceeded luke-warm.
We booked airport transfer for our departure, we confirmed this at check-in. We were told the transport company had our details (phone and flight) and would contact us to organize pick up.
At 0700 on day of departure, Monday, we had no contact from a transport company. We tried calling reception and got 'this phone is off or out of range'. We tried all three phone numbers provided. We downloaded Whatsapp and texted on the Whatsapp number supplied. We got no response or feedback.
Finally the staff arrived that delivered breakfast and was able to reach his colleagues. Apparently the staff that normally organized transfers was on vacation the previous week, so she finally told us to get a taxi, they wouldn't be able to organize our pick-up in time to make our flight.

This hotel is in a great location. Walking distance from Termini train station and Metro. Just around the corner from Santa Maria Maggiore church. The room was exceptionally clean and comfortable. The gem of this hotel are all the friendly and helpful staff members. They will go out of their way to recommend restaurants or to show you on a map how to travel to the different tourist sights.

My significant other and I have been travelling for the last month around Europe - more specifically a week and a half in Italy. This hotel, compared to the others was above average (that includes the 3 and 4-stars we have also stayed in). Some things you need to know about travelling in Italy:
1. There is a provincial service tax charged at the end of your stay at ALL hotels - so don't forget that. It is €2 per person per night.
2. All beds are hard; as well as the pillows
3. Quietness is a luxury. All hotels are noisy due to their location and older buildings - therefore BRING EAR PLUGS
4. Breakfasts are coffee (small) and sweet treats - protein (I.e.: eggs) and venti coffees are non-existent so I recommend going to the supermarket and buying yogurt or something to help supplement your early morning meals

This being said, auditorium di merchant was exactly what we expected; however, the staff was extremely hospitable, helpful and polite! The made our stay enjoyable and were able to answer all of our questions.
The room itself was off of the Main Street (Via de Statuto); therefore, being waken up to horns, sirens and street noise was common. It is frustrating, as we are used to quiet sleeps, but this is definitely the norm while travelling in Italy.
Secondly, breakfast was served to our room and was what we expected - some coffee, OJ, croissants and some bread. Luckily there is a super market at the end of the street and we bought some of our food to supplement the meal

Make note: there is no sign for the hotel. You have to enter a building and go up to the third floor. It is also located in Roma's china town area - as well - the area itself is quite dirty, smelly and crowded.

Overall our experience with the hotel was above average. It was what we expected in terms of accommodation and food - but the friendly staff surpassed our expectations. The renovated rooms made us feel comfortable and "at home" as possible.

Ok, this place is special! The location great, staff is amazing, very professional
The place is run by a great, proud true- Roman bloodded manager, and this guy is not only the best noted manager I have ever met, but also the best guide to Rome
Seriously - his guidance of Rome was worth the whole trip...
I really recommend this place!

Extremely close to a Metro stop. Or also VERY short walk from main Termini Station (we had backpacks). We arrived before check-n and were greeted with amazing hospitality. A cup of tea while we rest our feet, drop off our back packs and decide our plan of attack! The manager could not have been better! We were shown an EXTENSIVE map of Rome with HIS LOCAL knowledge and suggestions of how to spend our 4 days, what to see, when to see it, how to see it, what not to see, and most importantly, WHERE TO EAT!!!! He showed us how to have the most amazing experience in Rome, and we did!

We were fortunate to find the hotel on a new deal he was running, which was about 50% off his usual tariff, however, this did not affect their service. Reception was open 24hrs, everyntime we would head out they would check to make sure we were OK, and advise any more recommendations. Breakfast was served in BED, which was lovely for our tired feet!

The room was humble, but cleaned every day and had plenty of room to relax and store our luggage. Our bathroom was tight, but for the amount of time you spend in a bathroom, we could manage.

I am a nervous traveller and if anyone else reading this is, let me put your mind at ease. We couldn't have picked a better hotel for our needs. They even completed our Roman experience by providing a private taxi service to take us to the international airport and a discounted rate.

In a nutshell: Would highly recommend.. If we are ever again blessed to visit Italy, we will be back!!!
