I stayed in this hotel for 3 nights, it was in a great location, just a 10 minute walk from the colluseum! The room was beautifully decorated, and the hotel was clean. The staff were friendly and eally helpful with lots of tips where to eat on our first day. The breakfast was the down side, it was bread, croissant,...

The b&b is really nice, cozy and centrally located: the colosseo is within walking distance and the metro station is just outside the entrance. The staff was really helpful: they waited for us for a late check in (tell them in advance if you are arriving late, of course) and they allowed us to let our luggages there after the...

My wife stayed at this impressive little B&B during last week of Sept. It is a four plus transit room arrangement with a modest corridor/reception area situated in a block on the ground floor. The location is excellent being just 10 minutes walk from the sights and very close to the Manzoni Metro. We liked the relaxed manner in which...

My husband and I spent 4-nights at this very clean B&B. It is a perfect location for walking to the sites. Melissa (wife) is originally from the USA so she obviously speaks excellent English. Her husband was wonderful too. It is only 4 rooms but they are very, very nice. Gave us FANTASTIC places to eat nearby. We were not...

Very impressed with this accomodation, particularly because of the price. We wanted a week in rome without spending a fortune and got lucky with this B&B. Good price, good location, right next to manzoni metro stop and only down the road from the Colloseum. The room and ensuite was nice and always clean and breakfast was enough to keep you...

For the price i paid to get this room in rome as well as the hotel's slow email response, i really wasn't expecting much and was even prepared for the worst. The room is beautiful. Only our room in Varenna could beat this! Room: Wood parquet floors, big room; plush bed; sturdy oak cupboard; tastefully color co-ordinated curtains, bed sheets...

The location is fabulous. Transportation nearby. The self serve breakfast was ample. The only issue we had was the front door of the building is difficult to unlock when you leave the building. Free wi-fi was an unexpected bonus!

We were on family 4 days trip in Rome. Pension In Rome is great. Small (only 4 rooms), quiet, very clean… Johnny speaks English very well and he can recommend and help us with every trip all around Rome, even if it needs phone calling somewhere - he does it very kindly. Breakfast is Italian - so is only sweet,...

We stayed here for 5 nights and indeed it was an excellent choice. The location is perfect, just a few meters away is the subway station (Manzoni) and everyday the room is well cleaned. Internet (wifi) connection is also available and signal strength is excellent. Nearby are some good restaurants (not the usual resto with tourists food quality but one...

This B&B is 10 minutes walk from Colloseum, and not a walk that requires a lot of turns and explorer-like-skills, you just walk down one streed. The metro station it is without exaggerating right outside the door. The area was nice. The rooms are located inside a very nice building, it looks quite old. It felt like being in a...

Staying in Esquilino

Neighbourhood Profile
Esquilino
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighbourhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighbourhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic centre. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
