We booked this hotel for one night before going to florence. The room was adequate with an ensuite bathroom. Our room overlooked the tramway and was veru noisy even with the windows closed so we didn't get much sleep. Check in took ages since there was only one person at the reception and he seemed to be incharge of 4...

Very impressed with quality and locaton of hotel considering the cheap price. Spot on location next to the station, not too noisy, but while i stayed the hotel across the road was being rennovated so was a little noisy sometimes, but these things cant be helped. Got an upgraded room / en-suite free of charge! Friendly hotel staff, they were...

We were holidaying in Italy and were looking for a no-frills place near to Rome Termini (Rome's main station) and booked this place online. The rooms were clean, the shared bathroom never dirty. A little on the down-side was with the area at night, so made sure never to return late especially with our young child. Also, the tram used...

Overall stay in the hotel was good. Friendly personnel, good service. Good location for sightseeing. Relationship between price/quality was very good. I have paid only 30 euros per a day! As for Rome. It was not so good. There is a lot of swindlers and robbers in the Rome streets, who aspire to deceive foreigners, especially to take away their...

Warning - do not stay here in summer if you are solo\single. Single rooms have no air conditioning. To compare against similar hotel - July 21, I stayed 2 days at Hotel Halifax in Rome (north of Central Station) in large room with AC, and shower for 45 euros per night. Halifax has no elevator but otherwise was good place....

Our room did not resemble any of the rooms in the photos.- peeling yellowing wallpaper, horrible lighting, a shower head that sprays only the wall, furniture from 1967, a blowdrier that my grandmother may have used. There is cheap and quaint and then there is neglected and in disrepair which Hotel Terni was.. Despite amiable staff and a superb location,...

Great location and warm and friendly staff. They were very helpful with trying to contact the airline Alitalia about our lost luggage. We stayed in a "basic room" and it was comfortable. And the bathroom was exactly what the hotel website says: "ancient bathroom with shower without curtain and without box". :-) The location was perfect--literally two minutes from Rome's...

My partner and I booked this hotel last minute through the Venere booking site and all was fine, we werent looking for anything fancy, something cheap and close to Termini train station, which it was. Unfortunately our plans didn't quite work out and we needed to change the booking. Our attempts to change or even cancel entirely were unsuccessful as...

Staying in Esquilino

Neighbourhood Profile
Esquilino
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighbourhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighbourhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic centre. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
