This hostel is just a few appartments gathered in what's named "walter hostel". Rooms are cosy, comfortable enough but very old and humid. Bathroom was clean and the keepholder respectful of our hours of sleeping between two harassing days commutting and walking through this wonderful city. You get TV, private bedroom and bathroom plus a very simple breakfast for a...

The location is amazing, a metro stop is literally seconds away and Termini train station is a 5 minutes' walk away. The place itself was decent, I had originally booked a 6 bed at Walter rooms but was then given a 4 bed room at Walter Guest House in the road parallel. It was spacious enough for the 4 of...

Upon arrival we were told that we needed to pay more because the "website had booked us into several different rooms" - having since read other reviews this is a scam they often pull. We were sure they were scamming us but we were in no mood to explore rome looking for somewhere to stay - something they are keen...

Stayed in this hotel as we were after something cheap near Termini station. Walter Rooms fits this brief. You 100% get what you pay for; basic room, basic bathroom (with minor plumbing problems) and pretty bad breakfast (stale bread, coffee machine that doesn't work, long life milk with dry cereals and biscuits). The hotel itself is on the first floor...

I took the réservation in the 24 Carlo Alberto but they took to another adress, it was all illegal

Never never ever again!!!! It is a small apartment with several small rooms and a corridor with a receptionist seating there and loudly speaking. Moreover he is very rude .There is no chance to sleep well with noise and cockroaches on the walls!!! Never!!!

My problems with this guest house is partially down to Booking.com and lack of communication but I will tell the story here and you can make up your own mind on whether to stay here. I had to book this hotel room last minute as Booking.com had cancelled my other booking within two days of arrival in Rome. Once I'd...

Me and my girlfriend reserved a stay for 3 nights. When we got there thas was no one to receive us. We waited 15 min until someone came. The reception by the owner was unkind. Inside the house there was an awful smell and the bed sheets were stained. The wi fi signal was weak. The breakfast was poor, only...

Staying in Esquilino

Neighbourhood Profile
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighbourhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighbourhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic centre. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
