I preferred taking a taxi to the hotel as I hurt my foot ; the fare was about €7 . There is a lift to the third floor and everything is retro , quaint and cosy. I was given the option of a room with an ensuite but chose one which was larger but shared two bathrooms with other rooms.The... More

We just had a lovely four-night stay at Albergo Garisenda. It is our favorite small hotel in Bologna. The rooms have high ceilings, ceiling fans, AC, and comfortable beds. Wi-Fi is free and always works. A light breakfast is included and the Garisenda's cappuccino should not be missed. Our room was large and sparkling clean and the cost was a... More

Even if the hotel is very well located (near to the city centre, central station...), the owners were not really nice when we arrived we didn't feel like we were welcome... Rooms are not soundproof, you'll hear people talking (even if this is not loud) and particularly, we may hear vaccum like us at 9am..... Remember that they don't speak... More

First if you are driving in you must realize that it is in the building complex across the street from the leaning tower (and perpendicular to the Gelateria). Our navigation system struggled but if you walk up the stairs from the main road the location to the lift is on the left before you enter into the passage. The rooms,... More

We stayed here and enjoyed it completely The location is perfect you couldn't ask for better (Slight downside is noise from road below ) but have to expect that The owners were extremely accommodating and the breakfast was more than adequate with them trying to help and make sure we were happy We would definitely come back on a future... Albergo Garisenda is our favorite small hotel in Bologna. The location is excellent, right in the heart of historic Bologna, near the university (founded in 1066), the wonderful shops, the world famous Bolognese restaurants, and the must-see sights. The rooms are immaculately clean with wonderful high ceilings, AC, and comfortable beds. Wi-fi is free and always works. A light breakfast... More

What a great little place this is. It is right in the heart of the city with the most friendly staff you could find. If you want 5 star luxury this is not the place for you butif you want to be near the action then it is ideal.

Clean, comfortable and spacious room in a small, family-run hotel in central Bologna with simple Italian breakfast (great cappucchino). The only drawback is that you have to ring the bell to get in and late at night it feels like the have to stay up to let you in - but they said it wasn't a problem at all !

Clean, basic but good-sized and comfortable room in a very convenient central location. We decided to save some money by opting for a shared bathroom; there were two of these located near the room, and there were no issues with long queues. A little tricky to find at first, but go to the steps to the left of the Desigual... More

On the top of an old building, in the best location of the centro storico with the most friendly owners ever! For the price the breakfast is acceptable, and the rooms big but without a view to the surrounding area. The only problem is sharing the bathroom with other visitors. Stay there, is like visiting the past of this grandiosa... More
