Don't go in the summer!
The air conditioning, as advertised, is non-functional. I stayed in 2 different rooms and asked other guests. I know that Italians can have wonderful air-conditioning in 2 star hotels but not the Tre Vecchi.
This beautiful small elegant hotel is in the best location for experiencing the treasures of old town Bologna. It's on Via dell'Indipendenza, minutes from the train station and a short fun walk to the center of town, Piazza Maggiori. The food in Bologna is fabulous,...More
Tre Vecchi Hotel was great for a weekend stay. Nice decor, good sized room with a big bathroom, and very quiet even though it is on one of the main streets of Bologna. The staff were very helpful, particularly the guy who is on reception...More

The best location in Bologna to the train station, freeways, and shopping. The airport is about 20 minutes by cab or your own vehicle depending on if you can find your way there and the time of day. 5am piece of cake. It's a city and it has rush hour by 7am. You can walk to all shopping but comfortable shoes a must as it is mostly cobblestone. The hotel has limited underground parking less than 5 minutes walk.
