This is a small hotel but easily found by taxis. It's a very brief walk to all the main attractions and restaurants. The hotel is approached by three sets of stairs and once in the hotel there are two bedrooms approached by a narrow partially open staircase that is difficult to get luggage up/down. It would not be good for...

We spent a great weekend in Bologna, made all the better by the wonderful hospitality of Tiziana at Casa Ilaria. I highly recommend this B&B. Clean, warm and cosy. Spacious rooms. Fantastic freshly baked cakes every morning (the whole house smells of them!) and brilliant location, in the heart of the city.

We spent 5 nights in Casa Ilaria. The house is in an old house. It's very well situated: near restaurants and bars and at 10 minute walk from Piazza Maggiore. Despite the location (in the university area), it is very calm. The room is comfortable and well-equipped. We had a separated bathroom. However, that wasn’t a problem as it is...

We were made to feel so welcome here, it was like staying with friends. The breakfast was delicious, and Tiziana made wonderful treats for us, especially the gluten-free delicacies! Our room was scrupulously clean, with adjustable heating, hot towel rail, fluffy towels and a brilliant shower. The bed is firm and the linen immaculate. The room is so quiet you...

Visiting Bologna by myself I was a bit apprehensive staying in a B & B surrounded by Uni students. I had no problems at all. I walked around when it was dark and was thankful for the students in the street. They are well behaved and happy. It is close to the center. The B & B is very spacious...

We chose Casa Ilaria based on the Tripadvisor reviews, but we were somewhat disappointed. While it is indeed centrally located in the University area, we had to find our way among “partying” students every night... Although the rooms were facing the back yard and there was no noise coming from the outside, we had trouble sleeping because the house has...

Stayed one night and it was absolutely quiet despite being in the centre of the university district - the breakfast is great with warm service and a lot of items to choose from. Will stay there again the next time in Bologna.

What a great find. So much nicer than staying in a hotel. From the warm personal welcome we received in the kitchen which constantly smelled of fresh baking to the large but cosy bedroom, Casa Ilaria was a delight. The location was perfect for walking to the sights of Bologna. We would highly recommend that you stay here.

Pros; - Great location. 10-15 mins walk from the station and 5-10 mins walk from the centre of Bologna. Lots of bars and restaurants nearby and a really buzzy feel. - Incredibly quiet. Almost eerily so inside. It's very relaxing. - Tiziana was very welcoming and friendly. She was extremely helpful and met me when I arrived to show me...
