It was beautiful! From homemade breakfast on the room to the service, everything was perfect. The well-maintained complex and the wonderful room, we will not soon forget. Just a dream. We will come back!

I cannot say enough about the hospitality of Elena (the owner and manager) and this beautiful property and rooms! My husband and I spent three nights in the top floor room and really enjoyed our stay. The property retains it's rural roots but the building is restored beautifully with modern and rustic touches, large spaces and windows, and a luxury...

We have stayed in many hotels and B&Bs and this is without doubt the most wonderful place to stay. A beautiful and tasteful restoration of a large barn. The conversion has been done to a very high standard, and the furnishings and furniture tasteful. The gardens are beautifully laid out, with a large swimming pool for the guests' use. The...

Beautifully and tastefully appointed, and immaculately maintained, in a quiet neighborhood about 5 km outside the center of this alluring city. Both our room and the dining room were elegantly furnished. Breakfasts were varied, ample and delicious. Two of the afternoons, the staff graciously served us espresso as they dispensed information and advice. We drove our car into Parma, and...

A beautiful and tastefully restored stone barn, Villino di Porporano is in a quiet location around 3 miles from Parma (€10 in a taxi). The welcome is friendly and warm, with Elanor the hostess and her son both speaking very good English. In fact, when I asked for an iron in order to get some shirts ready for a meeting,...

We thoroughly enjoyed our two-night stay at the Villino di Porporano. The house is beautifully renovated, with antiques throughout, and our room overlooking the terrace was luxurious, comfortable and very clean. Breakfast was the highlight of our stay – from freshly squeezed orange juice to home-made cakes, breads, croissants and cookies, along with local cheese, ham and eggs, it was...

A beautiful place to stay while visiting the area. The decor is understated, elegant, very comfortable and home-like. Breakfast is outstanding. Elena and her staff go above and beyond to help you enjoy your stay. Her suggestion that we visit Torrechiara was perfect, restaurant recommendations were excellent. Thank you so much for your kindness and hospitality.

Elena even run after us at check out to give us her Easter chocolate ! Everything was up to our expectations. Very reasonable price too. The only minor...

I spent one night at this property last summer on my way to the airport in Milan. What a great decision! My rooms was lovely, with old-world charm and the conveniences of an updated bathroom and Wi-Fi. This really feels like you are staying in someone's home, with a large common area on the ground floor. We loved exploring Parma,...

Villino di Porporano is a villa, the facilities provide amazing experience of real Italian vacations. We really felt home. because of the cosy atmosphere, cutest ever room decoration and especially, the way personnel treats you. The villa is situated outside Parma, so it is just great to enjoy fresh air and country side. It has a lovely garden and beautiful...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Just a few kilometres from the centre of Parma, in the small, homely village of Porporano, a young couple devised and organised this place of delightful rest. Next to the main villa, in the garden grounds, springs an old rural cottage, built in solid stone brick with a hayloft above. This simple country site has been transformed into a charming cottage for guests; 5 rooms with en suite bathroom, communal area, a large kitchen, spacious veranda protected by glass which separates it from the enchanting green. Keeping the atmosphere of times gone by with its rough walls spaced out with blocks of pebble stone in place of bricks and the dimension of the hayloft which still astonishes those who enter; the rooms where the rough wooden floor gives harmony to the colours. The owners have furnished each room carefully and with passion: with iron headboards and delicately embroidered curtains and tapestry in thick linen, once forgotten in an old trunk. The cottage of Porporano, a place where hospitality is not only a profession but a style of life. ... more   less
