The location of the hotel was at the top of the hill overlooking the city. It had fenced in parking, which in the Cinque Terre towns, is very unusual. We wanted a room that was high up, with a view. Boy did we get it! We had to walk up 62 tall stairs that were outside to get to our...

Enrico and his wife were very accommodating. They provided lots of information about the town and nearby sites. Highly recommend staying here. This is not a 2 star hotel, it is so much more! Great value for money. The hotel is in perfect location. Only a 2 minute walk down the street to see the water and train station!

This is a lovely hotel at the top of the hill in Riomaggiore. From the hotel you can take a leisurely stroll through our favorite Cinque Terre village. At the bottom, you can easily catch a train or boat to visit the other 4 villages. Our room was clean, pleasantly decorated with a very nice bathroom, fridge and flat screen...

We chose to stay in Riomaggiore vs La Spezia for our short trip in the Cinque Terre. We arrived late and Enrico explained the perfect day and a half itinerary for us to see the area within a short timeframe. The rooms are clean, simple and homey. We even got to try a lemon from the lemon tree on the...

My wife and I just arrived at Locanda del sole after reading fantastic reviews to find our booking had been cancelled after an error on hotels.com, with no where to stay, the owner enrico went out of his way to find us other accommodation in the town calling around until he found something suitable and then gave us advice on...

Riomaggiore is not full of hotels. We had doubts trying to choose the location to stay. But finally decided to go to And never felt disappointed. So, it is a bit up closer to the mountain, you will need to go up with your luggage. You may also arrive by car from the other side and leave it at parking...

This hotel is perfectly situated; it's close enough to the center of town to walk — just down the hill — but far enough away that you can't hear the noise at night. (The tourists can be a bit loud.) Our room was nothing out of the ordinary but it was spacious and comfortable. The bathroom and shower were huge...

Knowing what to expect in Cinque Terre is the key to enjoying this wonderful part of Italy. I love the basic, simple feel of the area and our hotel was consistent with that experience. It was so relaxing after over a week in Venice, Verona and Milan. The room was cool and clean. I loved sitting out on the little...

It's hard to get accommodations in Riomaggiore, especially with parking. This hotel was clean, the manager Enrico was extremely pleasant and helpful, and we were very happy with our accommodations. The breakfast was a nice touch. Thank you.

This little hotel is sited at the top of the pedestrianised road that runs down the hill in Riomaggiore to the harbour. The major bonus for us was the possibility of secure (though open air) parking on the premises - a real problem in all the Cinque Terre. The room was basic but clean and comfortable and breakfast was more...
