We stayed for a few days here and it was one of the best views we have had, looking over the pool to the harbour. The hotel was great and with friendly staff. Close to local restaurants and the train station, if you want go to the Cinque Terre or for a reasonable walk to Portofino.

We spent three days at the Helios in September- great terrace with incredible views- bed was ok(two singles pushed together) which is not unusual in Italy. Front desk and other service staff were excellent. Breakfast was average at best( Very strange cornflakes) and could be improved with little effort- nice views though ( I was spoilt after the Gran Savoia...

We loved our stay at Hotel Helios. Stayed 6 nights in room 5, that of the huge terrace that overlooked the sea. As most have mentioned, the room is small (but not tiny tiny) and needs to be refurbished. The drapes, rugs, decor is all very dark and the aircon needs some work! the very worst part of the room...

My main reason for giving this 2 stars is the gap between quality and price, ie. if it was advertised and priced as a 2 or 3 star hotel I wouldn't mind the cranky small bathroom or sub-standard linen and amenities etc. but for the price it was just not worth it. Shame, because Santa Marguerita is a really beautiful...

Staff are very helpful especially older gentleman who works at the breakfast room and bar. He was always so happy to help us. Pool is amazing and so is view, unfortunately like many hotels in Italy it has passed its...

Have to say, lovely, quaint hotel; great staff - so helpful and nothing was too much trouble. Great location with ocean pool and huge sundeck; pooside café & bar. Rooms were a bit on...

We stayed at the Helios on a girls' trip to Italy, using it as a base for a day trip to Portofino and also to Cinque Terre. The hotel rooms were well appointed and beautifully cool - we were on the second floor with a great balcony but the first floor rooms had huge terraces (definitely worth trying to get...

Our second visit to this great hotel, wonderful location, wonderful staff who can't do enough for you, just make sure you leave an extra five minutes when dropping off the key and all set in a lovely real town, way better than Portafino- looking forward to our third trip next year.

This is one of the most amazing hotels I have ever stayed in. Right on the seafront with a resort-style pool area and dozens of loungers. Our room was on the corner, second floor, so had views out to sea and towards the beach and town. Also we had our own private roof terrace with sun loungers ,table and chairs...

Had a very comfortable room with a large terrace overlooking the pool area and marina. All aspects of the hotel were managed well. Superb breakfast area and view. Short walk into the town ares replete with good restaurants. Also a perfect base for the walk to Portofino or take boats to othe Ligurian ports.
