A clean, comfortable and friendly hotel with absolutely wonderful views over the lake. Staff were always cheerful and helpful. The air conditioning meant that our room was always comfortable even when the weather was uncomfortably hot. Breakfasts were very good. Why not 5 stars then? If you arrive without a car (and Bellagio isn't the easiest place to drive to, and certainly not to drive in, be aware that it is a 15-20 minute walk in to the town along a road which doesn't always have a pavement and is always busy. Secondly the food at dinner tends towards 'nouvelle cuisine' with small portions that we did not feel represented good value- we ate better for less elsewhere in the town

This is a high quality well established and well located hotel close to the Bellagio town centre ( easy downhill walk). The best rooms have balconies with stunning views across the Como lake towards Tremezzo and the mountains behind(snow capped in May) The lake ferry is nearby in the town centre where many good quality restaurants abound. The beautiful Giardini of the Villa Melzi are a stones throw away and offer peaceful verdant reflection time during your visit to the area. The hotel dining experience is good with breakfast and evening meals accompanied by picture postcard views.

My family and I traveled to Bellagio and stayed at the Hotel Silvio. We had a wonderful experience. There were 6 of us in 3 rooms, and all our experiences were positive. The rooms were well appointed, and a good value for the price. Two rooms had balconies with beautiful views of Lago di Como on floor 1, and the third room had a nice view and was spacious on floor 2. The breakfast provided was very nice. The staff at the hotel were very accommodating and really made the overall experience a very positive one. I would highly recommend Hotel Silvio to anyone looking to stay in the Bellagio area while in Italy.

I've stayed in so many hotels through Italy, from two through to five stars, and this has to be the worst. As a solo traveller, I am used to paying the same cost as others sharing a room.
Firstly, Hotel Silvo put me in the only disabled access room in the hotel - when I booked a double room with a balcony - not the disabled room.
Secondly, the drain in the shower was blocked, which I discovered while showering. This resulted in standing in disgusting drain water that pooled in the shower floor.
Thirdly, as the room is for disabled access, the shower had a very minimal lip. With the water pooling in the base, it leaked all over the bathroom and out to the bedroom.
Fourthly, the only powerpoint with the plug that fits the adapters, was on the floor outside the bathroom. With the water running into the bedroom, all my electronics which were charging got wet.
Fifthly, I tried to call the hotel from the phone next to the bed, only to discover, the phone was not working.
Sixthly, I reported to reception the next morning, as there are no staff at reception at night, who was very nice and helpful. However, she couldn't give me another room as the hotel was fully booked. I requested a refund, as this was not the room I paid for and all the drama with the room. Reception asked her manager to which the answer was no, they offered me a free pass to go to the 10 euro beach next door.
As the drain is a health and safety issue, as well as not the room I booked, a refund should be expected.
There are no hangers to hang towels, so had to use the shower rail, the room is small and I'm not sure how someone who was disabled would be able to access the balcony, as I had to squish around the bed to be able to get to it.
The bed was not comfortable, and there was a green light on the roof right near the bed, which stayed on all night and was really annoying when trying to go to sleep.
The food was okay, nothing to write home about.
The positive was the view, which doesn't make up for the negatives with everything else.
Absolutely would never stay here again, and I would recommend you look elsewhere to book if staying in Bellagio.

We picked this hotel as it was a little away from the main area of Bellagio, quiet and it had good reviews for rooms and restaurant. On arrival reception gave us a lovely welcome, offering lots of information about the area and hotel. We were tired and wanted to book a table for dinner and rest. The receptionist said no need to book and just gave us the opening times and closing times of the restaurant and bar, they both shut at 9pm. Our room was comfortable but very small, hardly any storage space and things like the hospitality tray was set up no where near a socket to use the kettle. There was a broken bit in the shower from a previous used shower gel dispenser. There was no where to hang towels after use, it was all a little cramped. We had however, booked a lake view, and the balcony and wonderful views didn’t disappoint. After un packing a bit we decided to go and claim our free welcome drink, a choice of soft drink or wine. Whilst in the bar we asked to look at the dinner menu, and what we got was a total shock, the restaurant was only offering and operating on a limited basis. The menu had cold cuts of meat or salads and that was it. We had booked this hotel by the reviews of the amazing restaurant, and no where on the website does it say the restaurant is operating like this. It was extremely disappointing. And then to shut by 9 pm and not offer any bar service after that, I’ve never known a hotel like it. On the plus side, to the staff I would like to say thank you. They were all very helpful, kind and welcoming and all worked very hard. The room could have been a bit cleaner. Breakfast was good, a decent amount of choice, and also cook to order omelettes or scrambled egg. Mostly other continental bits, fruit, yoghurt, juices and meats, cheeses, breads etc. Hotel Silvio, please put something about the restaurant on your website so guests are not mislead!

We had a positive experience at this hotel in proximity of the town center. For it to give a free of charge parking spot comes in incredibly handy and the food served is delicious. The facility accommodates one of the best restaurants in the city. When it comes to food my partner and I are very choosy and we enjoyed all the dishes that were served. Agnolotti al salmerino are to die for and Mascia di Bellagio is out of this world. The quality of the food definitely extends to the breakfast buffet. The kind receptionists are willing to suggest you interesting spots to visit and activities, maps included. The staff was eager to assist us with issues regarding the cleaning service and solve it in no time. The acustic insulation of the room could use some renovation since you can hear everything going on in the other rooms. We surely recommend this hotel, chiefly for the food.

The staff is the highlight here, friendly and helpful in every way. We had a room with a sitting area and two balcony’s with views of Lake Como and the mountains which was an added bonus. The only negative thing I would say is the rooms are a bit run down but only enough to not get the 5 stars, not enough that we were unhappy. (My boyfriend loved the shower water pressure), We liked being out of the very hectic town of Bellagio but still just a short walk away to be able to go enjoy it.

Customer Service was great, our room had a nice view a balcony and was clean. The room is a bit small but to be expected. We were walking distance to town which was about 15 mins and actually quite lovely. There is grocery store less than 10 minute walk which is handy. There was no fridge in our room. Breakfast was adequate and actually nice to have before venturing out for the day. We ate in the restaurant one night and it was great and highly recommend.
Our only complaint would be the WiFi. Our cell plans for travel are high and really an added expense we don’t need so WiFi is a must!! We like to plan the day, check out restaurant or work out ferry schedules etc. I read previous reviews that the internet was bad and it’s true. 1 MBPS speed when it worked and it sometimes didn’t work at all. Signal strength wasn’t the issue, it was poor speed everywhere. Wifi downtown and elsewhere ran great, just not at the hotel where we most needed it to plan and keep in touch with family.
Other than that the hotel was great!

We loved this hotel. Small hotel with a great, friendly staff. We stayed there for 4 nights, and had lake view rooms. We like that it is a 15 minute walk to Bellagio (some others may not like this), but part of your walk can be through the Villa Melzi gardens - which are beautiful. Good breakfast with great views of the lake. Staff was very helpful in giving us rides into town if we did not walk, and in providing us where info on ferry's and places to visit. This is the second time we have stayed here, and we will stay here again.

The location is very good and convenient access to the ferry and restaurants. The front staff are courteous and helpful. The rooms are clean but very tiny. It’s basically a bed with a door. The restaurant staff are rude and un- inviting. The menu has low quality to value ratio

Hello there, the walk to the main town takes about 15 minutes and unless you have walking problems (in this case the whole Bellagio, being on a hill is not ideal!) you should be fine :)
The Villa Melzi gardens offer a nice alternative along the lake shores - open till 6 pm and fees are applied.
pool apartment has a sofa bed in the kitchen area but there plenty room , we put the kids in there. There about 3 apartments using the pool but its far from crowed. The apartment is about a mile to the town but you can walk to the Hotel 250yrds and get them to take you in to the town , they don't charge for this service.
There is a shuttle service I believe that you can book to get from the airport to the town of Bellagio. If I remember correctly it is 50 Euro per person one way. My wife and I took the train to the city of Como and then the ferry from Como to Bellagio. It's cheaper and you get a boat ride to see a large chunk of the lake. It does take longer so the cost may be worth it to you. Just wanted you to have the information you need. Enjoy! It's amazing!!
Dear Merry,
you can see some photos of la piscina apartment on our web site.
From our hotel/restaurant to villa melzi's garden is just 2 minutes. We offer a shuttle service at fixed time, from our hotel to the center and back, but the way by feet is 15minutes.
There are more places to choose from in the Bellagio area.
