The hotel is tired and desperately needs updating. The mattress on the beds were 30+ years old and springs dug into our backs. We couldn't sleep a wink and when we politely asked to change rooms to a newer mattress the manager was absolutely rude, was incredibly difficult and suggested we both had a back problem. We were moved into an equally poor room (after much huff and puff) this time with a "view" to the back of the building. It was an awful experience, I strongly suggest booking somewhere else.
Contrary to what some of the comments here say, we actually enjoyed our stay here. We stayed in one of the Lake view rooms on the 2nd floor which had amazing views. The reception was helpful whenever we have questions. The bed was ok and wasn't hard at all. I mean, for a 3 star hotel with amazing views, I think the price was worth it. Not really sure what the others are expecting. If you want a fancier hotel, maybe dig deeper and go to a 4 or 5 star hotel. We didn't try their restaurant as we were mostly out. The breakfast is ok, not a lot of options but like I said, you get what you paid for. The only thing for me is that there could've atleast been a kettle for making coffee in the room. We literally have two glasses and that's it.
The hotel is dissapointing, with outdoor noisy restaurant in front of entrance. Loud music and screams from restaurant at night make sleeping impossible. Front desk is rude, poorly trained. Do not advise to stay at this hotel. Broken shades kept room vindow closed. We were explained to wait until the end of weekend for handy man show up and fix. Matress was very hard. Alex and Natalia
We came on the ferry to the Bellagio as we had visited here 47 years ago. We had a meal at this restaurant on the waters edge. We were not impressed. We were quite late for lunch so we're told to order quickly and then others came in and were accommodated. The service was ok to start with, we all, ordered lasagna and a bottle of wine. The food came reasonably quickly but if we hadn't asked where our wine was our wine would have never turned up. The food was tepid so very dasappointing, I sent mine back to be heated up so was eventually good. This place didn't leave us feeling great.
What’s not to love about Bellagio on Lake Como. This was our 2nd visit to Bellagio it is just so beautiful. We did a day trip from Milan. Train to Varenna then across on the ferry. We had lunch at a table on the lake at the Excelsior Splendide. My hubby had the seafood pasta and I had salmon spaghetti. Both meals were delicious. Friendly service, it was very busy in Bellagio with lots of tourists. Our meals with 2 beers and water euros 48.

We stayed here for a week but only ate breakfast in the restaurant. While the restaurant is good it lacks the atmosphere that you would want for a special night to remember. There are several beautiful restaurants along the lake shore in Bellagio that I feel would be a better choice for a last night on Lake Como.
