I had a wonderful two-night stay at Hotel Centrale Bellagio at the end of August 2024. The hotel is centrally located, just a five-minute walk from the ferry. Like many hotels in Bellagio, reaching it requires walking up a number of steps through town, which is part of the village’s charming and historic layout. While this may be something to keep in mind, it also adds to the authentic experience of staying in such a beautiful lakeside destination.
The hotel itself is beautiful and well-maintained, exuding a charming rustic ambiance. It features two lovely courtyards—one at the front entrance and another on the upper levels—both available for guests to enjoy. The breakfast selection was excellent, offering a variety of options.
My room was comfortable and clean, though the shower may feel a bit small for those with a larger frame. Each room appears to have a unique layout, which I appreciated, as it adds to the character of the hotel.
Lastly, and most importantly, the owners of this family-run hotel were incredibly kind and welcoming, making my stay even more enjoyable.
I would highly recommend Hotel Centrale Bellagio and look forward to returning!

The hotel is located in the center of Bellagio... As soon as you get off the boat go up the stairs across the street and you will find yourself in the hotel! The room was clean with a spacious bathroom and the bed was comfortable! One problem is that the room had no external shutters (the only room) but only blackout curtains which was impossible to do... The staff was very nice! A big advantage of the hotel is the quietness surrounded by a nice garden! Breakfast is another plus where everything is provided! Eggs, sausages, bacon, croissants, cold meats and freshly baked bread! Congratulations!

We found the hotel ‘Centrale’ online based on location, reviews, and the value for the money criterion. Now, after spending a week there, I am grateful of the people, who provided opinions, and want to add my ‘two cents’ by addressing the things that are a little less represented in the reviews, but make all the difference.
Centrale has a perfect location, if you want to spend a few days at beautiful Bellagio, the hotel is a three-minute walk (literally) to the center and lake piers, a three-minute walk up to the main street, which crosses Bellagio all the way.
The main thing, however, I wanted to highlight, is the hotel itself. It has the genuine charm and spirit of the lake Come area and Italy. Nice, lovely, not big, blossoming plants are everywhere. If you look closely, you will notice that every detail small and big was carefully thought through, beautifully designed, and functional.
That is not surprising, because the hotel is family owned. You will be greeted with a genuine smile and a desire to make your stay here the most pleasant. You will feel it during breakfast or while asking for information and advice. There is an atmosphere of unobtrusive warmth and comfort around, which sets the stage for a perfect vacation. That is what we have experienced during our stay, and we wish you the same!

We stayed 4 nights and loved our stay. We were out and about early (after our delicious breakfast at the hotel) but we always looked forward to a friendly greeting when we returned at night. The staff would give us restaurant selections, make reservations for us, and our room was spotless when we returned each evening. If you’re thinking of staying here, I would highly recommend it. The location is central to everything you will need to have a fabulous vacation!

I stayed at Hotel Centrale for five nights at the height of tourist season and loved everything about it. The hotel is centrally located and yet an oasis from the maddening crowds. My single room was lovely and more spacious than I had expected. The breakfast buffet was ample, varied, fresh and delicious. The breakfast room was charming, as were all the garden common areas. But what I most appreciated was the welcoming attitude, patience, knowledge, helpfulness and good humor of my host family. Michele and Elizabeth in particular gave me great recommendations about places to eat and things to do, and handled all my travel questions and needs with skill and efficiency. I am deeply grateful to them for a wonderful stay!

A charming hotel, set back from the main street of Bellagio however, a very easy stroll to everything, including the ferries. After a very long day of trains, planes and automobiles (and ferries) I was greeted by Michael with a smile, a cold drink and escorted straight to my room!
My room, on the top floor was spacious, well appointed and the king bed, very comfortable. Furnished in the “Italian style”. Accessed by stairs or lift. Air conditioner worked very well! The ensuite was well appointed (shower only). I had a wonderful skylight that had a shading system, lovely to have open of a night time and a Juliet balcony, with terrific views of the lake and surrounding neighbourhood.
The hotel is set around a courtyard with tables and chairs and a magnificent tall tree. You can breakfast here or inside the adjacent breakfast room. At breakfast you had plenty to choose from, continental or cooked, with some delicious pastries. Coffee freshly made for you.
Either side of the lane way was a variety of restaurants that seemed to be popular with the locals and so, not far to travel for dinner after a busy day sightseeing.
Everyone I had contact with at the hotel were friendly, welcoming and very obliging, in a “family type of way”. As a solo traveller I felt very much at home here and I would love to return.
Highly recommend

We’ve stayed here on two visits and enjoyed it both times. We saw upgrades on the second visit, including new electronic key system. Rooms are very clean & breakfast in lovely solarium. There is an elevator for bags but best to use flatter walkways in rear (near church) than to use steep cobblestone steps up with any luggage. Staff recommended great dinner spots and even made reservations for us (both very near hotel). Highly recommend this hotel.

Stayed here for 4 nights in late September as the first stay as part of a 7 week tour of Italy. We couldn't have picked a better hotel to start our tour with. Hotel is family run, and they go above and beyond to provide help, assistance, and recommendations on where to eat, what to see, and how to get around. It is truly a quiet little gem, literally just a few steps (2-3 minute walk) from thel Bellagio ferry terminal. Rooms are quiet and clean. You literally can't go wrong staying here!

This hotel is the definition of gracious hospitality! It was our 3rd stay here, we return because it is beautiful, relaxing, and so convenient to the sites in Bellagio. The garden is beautiful with many flowers and smells of jasmine. there are 2 patios, one outside entrance and one a level up with tables, chairs, and flowering plants & citrus…delightful…perfect spot to enjoy a glass of wine…they’ll happily provide your glasses. The owners Michele & wife Elizabeth speak English and are so helpful with any question we have. the breakfast provided either inside or in garden is top notch along with great coffee drinks. I highly recommend a stay here!

We just returned from Hotel Centrale this week. We were so impressed by this hotel! We had a generous breakfast buffet included, our room had a veranda that we sat on every night, staff especially Elizabeth were extremely helpful with directions and booking ferry tickets. We are hoping to return to Italy within 2 yrs and will definitely stay at Hotel Centrale again!

Dear Dee
we are sorry for our late reply.
From Como to Bellagio there are many choices.
Bus , Ferry and of course taxi.
The easiest way but espressive one is by taxi. Should be 80 euro )
Regards Hotel Centrale.
Yes it is possible, we were on the ground floor and had a lovely room with a nice courtyard. When you book just request a ground floor room.
Word of warning, if mobility is in question, the hotel Centrale is located about halfway up the way up the
Freisa Lane, to get there they are lots of small stairs, not steep at all, just a gentle slope as with all the lane ways, they are all lined with little shops, restaurants and so forth.
Beautiful family boutique hotel, we stayed 3 nights and loved every moment. Would go back no hesitation.
