Nestled on a forested hillside and cradled between a ring of high Alpine foothills, visitors have enjoyed Hotel Il Perlo Panorama and its view overlooking Lake Como for nearly a century. It was built in 1922 by a private family, and has been run by the family ever since last year, now from Kilmer's Family. At the beginning it was a small farm with a few basic affordable rooms to rent for servants of the aristocracy visiting nearby Bellagio. Today it is the guests of Il Perlo who feel like the richest people in the world as they take in the special panoramic vista from the expansive patio or from the solitude of their rooms and are treated with the same welcoming family hospitality as those years ago. The hotel is a sublime getaway from the hustle of everyday life. From the gurgling namesake stream, Torrente Perlo, to the garden of roses, olive trees, wisteria and kiwi vines, to the large zen-like outdoor patio and view unrivaled in Lake Como, it will enchant you from the very beginning. Whether you are looking for a romantic holiday, a quiet place for the family to explore together, or a base for hiking and cycling adventures, you will realize why Hotel Il Perlo Panorama continues to host returning guests from around the world again and again. A renovation project is underway to bring the hotel to a higher category

Thank you so much to all the staff at Il Perlo for making our stay in Bellagio magical. The views from our bedroom, the restaurant and the terrace were absolutely breathtaking! The staff were very kind and helpful. A shuttle was provided each day to take you down to Bellagio when you requested it. It was my birthday so we booked the restaurant and were totally spoilt by the views and the very accommodating waiter Francesco. We would also like to thank Joy who was extremely helpful giving us information about the local area and at suggesting places to visit. We would definitely recommend staying in this hotel because of its amazing views and friendly staff. Thank you.

Wow, where do I start...I stayed here with my partner as part of both our Birthday celebrations and the hotel is a hidden gem within beautiful Lake Como.
The staff, the room, the food and the surroundings are just amazing.
We booked a superior room and were given the matrimonial room. The room was spacious, with a separate lounge area, large comfy bed with tea / coffee making facilities, a small TV and a separate bathroom with a really powerful shower.
The most impressive thing about the room though was the view! Quite simply one of the best views I have had at any hotel, with a panoramic view of the lake. (See photo)
The included breakfast was freshly cooked to order (eggs, tomatoes etc), with a large selection of pastries, coffees, cakes, cereals and fruit and served within the restaurant area that had stunning views of the lake from up high.
The staff were so helpful, friendly and caring and helped give the hotel great charm and real family run feeling.
Although the hotel is a mile or so out from the main centre of Bellagio, the hotel run an on-demand shuttle bus using an electric van, which costs a small fee and operates between 8am - 7pm.
We highly recommend eating in the hotel's restaurant too, as we had a fantastic meal (see photos), fresh fish and pasta with lovely house wine.
It's hard to find any negatives on the hotel, and I would say the only slight one would be the that the hotel is a 30 min walk from the main town, but the view and peaceful setting of the hotel more than compensates for this, and besides the shuttle bus to and from the main town ensures you are not stuck. We did walk up and down one night / morning and although a fairly steep incline, it was very scenic with some lovely architecture and views to take in along the way.
All in all, a relaxing stay in a beautiful place helped with the brilliant staff, food and amazing views. Hope to be back again soon! Thanks.

Perfect hotel for our needs. I picked this hotel based on the location (outside the center of Bellagio), ability to park onsite and well regarded onsite restaurant and the hotel delivered. We were upgraded to to a bigger lake front room with a balcony and the views were stunning. The bedroom and room were comfortable. It was cold and due to Italian law, heat can't be used in May, but once we reported the issue to the front desk, the quickly resolved it. The onsite restaurant was excellent -- food was local, delicious, and well priced.

2-star hotel whose management seems a little unusual to us...
It is equipped with a computer system with access to the rooms by programmable card (Nothing exceptional so far) but there is not even a piece of furniture to put your things in the bathroom?
In 2023 is there still such a lack of comfort in a room costing more than €200 per night?
We put our things on a stool...Are you celebrating the same thing at home, Mr. Boss?
The wifi is average and it is connected to a hotel marketing system: Each time you connect to the wifi, you are offered paid services...
For example, we insist that you make a reservation at the restaurant before 6:00 p.m. to be entitled to a 10% discount... But the 10% discount does not appear on the bill and when you ask for it... you are told that you were dreaming. ..(Since we cannot provide proof of what we are saying)
The restaurant is OK, with high prices for a 2*.
Simple and ordinary breakfast...(Large croissant not good at all)
Hotel located next to a road frequented by motorcycles...(It is therefore a noisy hotel) Just like inside the walls are without any insulation...you can hear the neighbors...
Shower water unstable in temperature...
Filthy shower door outside...(I'll keep the photo for myself)
Here I think I have said enough to characterize our dissatisfaction.
Impossible to say all this at check out since the only young woman speaking French was not there..

I have mixed feelings about this hotel. On the positive side, the stunning views across Lake Como and the friendliness of the staff are noteworthy. Additionally, the restaurant offers excellent cuisine, although it is quite expensive. However, there were significant downsides. Our room described as a “superior triple room” emitted a strong drain odor and was very basic, reminiscent of 1-star accommodation. The bathroom was not only unattractive with its dated and shabby decor but also our room in general desperately needed maintenance and redecoration. The WiFi was also quite patchy and barely sufficient for streaming. We were situated in a room outside the main house, beneath the terrace, which makes me wonder if the rooms in the main house might be in better condition. We reported the unpleasant smell to the staff, but unfortunately, no compensation was offered. It's simply unacceptable to accommodate guests in a room that smells of drains.

What makes this hotel everything is the incredible view of more than 200° over Lake Como (that's why I give it 4*), large terrace with tables to enjoy it, have a drink or dine . We can't get enough of this view from morning until sunset! Plenty of parking spaces to leave the car and the hotel offers a shuttle to take you to the city center (around 2.5km of slopes) for €5 per person. The staff is very welcoming and very friendly. Too bad there is no elevator to take luggage up, the stairs are quite narrow with luggage especially for the 2nd floor, nor a beautiful infinity pool on the lake. Finally, the bathroom which remains clean would require serious updating!

We left this hotel with a mixed feeling. The staff is really kind and helpful. The vue is absolutely amazing.
Still we got the feeling that the hotel is not operated to its full potentiel.
Shuttle transfert to and from Bellagio center costs 5€ per person per trip which is quite a budget when you don’t have a car and dependent to the shuttle.
Restaurant is just OK and very expensive. It is worth going to the restaurants in Bellagio.
Finally, breakfast is a joke (presented by the hotel as just convenience by the way). I’ve never seen such a low-quality breakfast and you have to pay additional fees for normal stuff at a hotel breakfast such as eggs, orange juice and pancakes. The breakfast contrasts with the quality of the other hotel’s services.

So the potential is here but there are a lot of enhancements that could be done in this hotel to maximize the experience.

The location of the hotel offers a great view over the lake, especially from the terrace or from a room with direct lake view. It’s incredible!
Bit of a walk from town centre but it’s worth it because you get to see some nice streets and views.
The owner was very nice, picked us up from the ferry station after shuttle hours because we arrived late and then dropped out bags at the same plece when we left.
Restaurant was good, fair price, nice and proffesional staff!
Overall…Excelent!!

The hotel is on the hilltop with beautiful panoramic views of the lake. To go to downtown Bellagio, the hotel has a paid shuttle, or you can take your car, but the parking will be a little away from the main region. The rooms are clean and comfortable. and the breakfast is very good especially with the views sitting outside. One of our friends did not have the best views from their room so please check about that before to avoid disappointment. The views from our room were really good. The road has a lot of twists and turns and narrow so arrive during daytime for the first time then you will get used to it. Downtown Bellagio has a lot of unique shops. We took a ferry to Varena and then had a private boat ride on Lake Como for 2 hours going past various villas and then being dropped off in Bellagio. This was a wonderful experience with our friends.

Small establishment with super friendly and amazingly helpful staff. The room are basic but very clean with everything you may need on a trip to Bellagio. If it is in your budget, get a room with a view. The view of the lake and surrounding area are picture perfect. You can get a much more expensive hotel closer to downtown but the views from the hill are naturally better. Healthy and hearty breakfast is served every morning with variety of freshly baked goods, fresh orange juice, and variety of other things. The hotel shuttle will take you to town and back in about 5 min. No elevators and no AC. But the rooms are equipped with ceiling fans and open windows let a good breeze in. Lovely plane to stay in Bellagio with kind and local staff. It is not Ritz but the staff are as helpful with the most genuine smiles and sense of hospitality. Would not stay anywhere else when we come back.
