First of all, Michelangelo could not have been a better host! He's personable, knows the area well, and seems to love running the B&B. He offered to pick us up from the train station (although it's probably only a 10 minute walk if you choose that route). He was accommodating as our timing changed at the last minute, and he was so friendly and gave us a tour of our room and the breakfast and rooftop area when we arrived. Breakfast was definitely a bright spot. Michelangelo took our order when we checked in and had it ready at 8:30 on the dot. He prides himself on using all local food, including olive oil that his family produces, focaccia from the bakery below the B&B, and pastries from somebody in town. He also makes a mean omelette. The view from the rooftop is stunning, and there are only four rooms so you don't have to worry about it being crowded. The B&B is in a great location right off the main square and just a few hundred yards from the water. We stayed in room #3, which was big enough and had good sized bathroom (compared to what we had seen in comparably priced places across Italy). Even in August the evening breeze was enough to keep the room cool, but it also had AC. We can't wait to visit again!

We could not have had a warmer welcome from Michaelangelo to his property for our one night stay. We were on our way from Germany to Liguria and wanted to stay on the lake. The position of the B&B could not be better. The parking is very close and the restaurants are nearby. Michaelangelo's restaurant recommendation was perfect. The roof terrace is beautiful. We sat there after dinner (drinking the complementary wine!) in the shadow of the clock tower looking out at the lake. The views are actually better in real life than they look on the photographs. The breakfast was superb. We obviously ordered too much the night before! We cannot wait to see Michaelangelo again soon.

Our stay at this B and B was perfect. The views from the 4th and 5th floor are absolutely breathtaking. To eat a gourmet breakfast up there is the perfect way to start every day. Michelangelo was a great host and very informative and accurate about everything good in Varenna. His restaurant recommendation for Quattro Pass was excellent! I will recommend Michelangelo and his Bed and Breakfast to anyone and everyone going to Lake Como

Our stay at Michelangelo B&B was perfect in every way. Our host was incredible and an amazingly passionate young man who provided us with the information to make our Lake Como stay just perfect in every way. The authentic family restaurants he recommended and the daily travel plans allowed us to enjoy every part of this luxurious little gem. We cannot wait to come back and experience more of this gorgeous area.
