What a beautiful and relaxing stay we had! At night we watched the Aurora Borealis from our bedroom! The Inn has an amazing view of the MacKenzie River from four beautiful bedrooms. In the morning we were served a lovely breakfast and were thrilled to see the owners using NWT farmed eggs! This place was a complete treat!

Stayed for one night with family after our flight over Nahanni. Arrived late to a wonderful dinner thoughtfully prepared for us because no restaurants were open in town. Saw the northern lights off the front deck. Amazing! Comfortable rooms. Lovely home - formerly the RCMP station in Fort Simpson. Highly recommended!

We stayed here for 2 nights and enjoyed the clean and comfortable setting. Place was fully booked with other guests but we didn't see or hear them much. Surprisingly, everyone had different morning schedules so we never had issues needing one of the 2.5 baths (handy powder room on main floor) or having breakfast at the same time. Hosts were...

I stayed for one night at the Mackenzie Rest Inn. The inn is beautifully decorated, and the hosts are really lovely. They cooked a filling breakfast, with eggs to order, and coffee and tea are available at all hours. I stayed in room number 1 for one night, and though it was chilly, a small space heater was provided. The...

We drove to Ft Simpson in order to fly into Nahanni National Park. MacKenzie was recommended to us and a good idea. They sit on the river by the float plane dock. So for our flight the next morning we just walked down the front lawn. Simpson Air works closely with them and kept them appraised of take off time....

Thanks to Reg and Lois for hosting all 10 of us, plus one dog, on July 24 and July 29/15. We were given the run of this beautiful old building and backyard on both dates. It was a truly a little piece of old world hospitality right from the robes in the rooms, to the full breakfasts delivered with a...

We travelled to Fort Simpson as part of a documentary crew. We were exhausted from 3 days at Folk On The Rocks and Mackenzie Inn was our harbour to recover our energy, sleep long hours, and take in the amazing views. The property is right on the shores of the great Mackenzie River, and is a quaint get-away and a...

In fort Simpson for business, and I must say, when I first found out I thought 'oh great... In the north, small town, gonna be a no tell motel... Man was I wrong. Tracy, and her husband were warm and welcoming, Reg is a funny guy, and his son cooks a mean breakfast to start the day! This is by...

We met the manager, Reg in aFort Simpson restaurant by chance. Noticing our apparent disorientation, Reg initiated a conversation. In the process we were offered showers gratis at his beautiful accommodation for which we are ever grateful. Knowing that we travelling in a camper van, Reg did not attempt to sell us. Sue and I highly recommend Mackenzie Inn not...
