Close to the hotel, in the Lido area, you may find the cableway to the Mottarone mountain (1500mt.) and public or private boats to Borromée isles. A very clean well run family hotel. Rooms a good size and ours had a balcony and picnic table and chairs. Generous European breakfast. Coffee available over most of the day and evening at very fair extra costs. Good wifi. Good on site parking at small extra cost, although access requires some care as it is via a quite narrow street. The manager Danielle was very helpful in providing guidance on things to do and restaurants etc. He also spoke reasonable English which we found valuable.
The location is close to the station and Lido area, and an easy 700 or 800m walk from the heart of town.
Overall an excellent value hotel in a town where summer parking is at a premium.

Very nice hotel, in a quiet street in an excellent location. Very close to the station, the ferry terminal for the islands and the Mottarone cable car (for when it is restored). The center of Stresa can be reached with a nice fifteen-minute walk along the panoramic lakeside promenade.
The room was comfortable, very clean and quiet, the quality of sleep was excellent. We had a few days of bad weather and they turned on the heating: it was a pleasant sensation to return to the room cold and find it warm!
The breakfast was delicious, with a great choice of sweet and savory, homemade cakes, yogurt, fruit juices and fresh fruit.
Mr. Daniele has always been very kind and available for every need.

I have just concluded my holiday in Stresa at the Hotel "La Locanda" (Via Leopardi) and I had a great time. Comfortable and clean double room, breakfast full of choices. The fresh croissants, the always excellent quality cake and the friendliness of the staff made the week regenerating.
The quality of sleep is guaranteed by the tranquility of the area.
In the evening, at the "Idrovolante" restaurant you can also enjoy a dedicated menu for the inn's guests at €16 with a first and second course of your choice.
The excursions, convenient via public boarding to the Borromeo islands and other sections of Lake Maggiore, offer always different and adventurous days.
For those who love the sun, still in Viale Lido, you can access the infinity pool with lake view.
The Locanda is a 7-minute walk from the railway station.

Comfortable environment and great availability on the part of the owner to make the holiday truly relaxing (perfect directions to reach all the main 'wonders' of Stresa - and there are many).
I really appreciated the silence at night and the breakfast with a wide choice (the hot croissants were delicious but don't miss the cake and muffins!).
Room always very clean and really functional.

We stayed for 6 nights at the beginning of June. La Locanda is a 2 star hotel but the rooms are lovely and clean and spacious. We had a lovely little balcony over looking the mountains. Breakfast was well organised and lovely. Meats and cheeses , cereals and best of all cake which was lovely and a croissant each morning. Great location for catching ferries around the lake and a nice 15 minute walk along the lake into Stresa. Best of all was the 5 star attitude of the staff who were fantastic. Really helpful snd friendly. We loved our stay

An excellent stay at the La Locanda hotel in Stresa. Very close to the pier for the Borromean Islands. The welcome is warm and the staff speaks French. We booked the quadruple room. The room is very clean and quiet. Breakfast is varied: croissant, cake, juice, hot drink… parking is a real plus. The center of Stresa can be reached on foot in 10 minutes.
I highly recommend for visiting Lake Maggiore and its surroundings.

The best was the huge,fresh and delicious croissant but u can find many other things for breakfast.The stuff was very friendly,helpful and polite. Rooms were cleaned and towels were changed every day. Close to the center and good restaurants. Bed is comfortable.

Highly recommend for families as the place is clean and comfortable. Staff were friendly and welcoming. My family and I enjoyed breakfast which had a range of offerings as well as the bar which was open all day and evening for drinks. Location was excellent—close to promenade and only 10-15 minutes walk into town. Excellent value for money overall!
