Regina Palace is seen by guests as a hotel with a prime location and an elegant, nostalgic atmosphere reminiscent of past grandeur. The hotel's cleanliness and maintenance receive commendations, as do the professional staff and the exceptional dining experiences offered.
However, opinions on value are mixed, with some guests feeling the cost does not align with the outdated rooms and pricey amenities. While the spa and breakfast are highlights, the comfort and service of some amenities have room for improvement.

Belle Époque style this luxurious and refined palace is located on the lake. The period furniture and architecture of the building is quite remarkable.
The spa and indoor pool (included in the nightly rate) are the hotel's greatest strengths. Decorated in the shape of a cave, every detail is taken care of. Even the bottom of the pool in fake sand with real glued shells. So this makes it one of the most amazing and original spas I have seen.
The lake view rooms have a balcony and are designed with beautiful materials and beautiful furniture. The marble bathroom contains a whirlpool tub, in addition to a separate shower.
The restaurant is relatively expensive for the services offered. On the other hand the breakfast (included in the price of the night) is amazing and very hearty.
Big downside regarding the only parking of the hotel, which is a paid covered parking, very expensive. This is not acceptable given the room rate. Parking should be free for hotel guests. Small trick to alleviate this problem you can park in the street along the lake it is free and without time restriction.

Impeccable structure for organization, cleanliness, services offered, professionalism of the staff. Inside it seems to be on the set of a film set in the 1930s, it is a perfect setting for a romantic and relaxing weekend. The spa is so quiet that my wife and I fell asleep. The outdoor swimming pool is also excellent. It's worth the money you ask for, except for the Liberty restaurant: the service is of a high level (really qualified staff) but the price of dinner is disproportionate compared to the dishes served. We must always give value to the money we spend, the location is not enough.

Stayed in a lovely Lake view room with a small balcony number 311. The hotel is charming, roomy with plenty of sofas and chairs. It's in a great position very near to Stresa centre. The gardens are immaculate. We were on a half board basis. Breakfast was nice with enough choices, sitting on the terrace or inside as you liked. Dinner was 4 courses, salad first, each course had a choice of 4 options so there was always something to suit. The dining staff were very friendly and welcoming especially Manager Giuseppe and Matteo who was very cheerful and couldn't do enough for you. Both the outdoor swimming pool and the indoor pool were lovely. A couple of times after a long days walking we went to the indoor. Beds and towels were always available and the water was just like getting into a warm bath. The colour changing lights were very relaxing. It's a must see. The only issue we had was because of the very high prices in the bar it was always empty, lovely bar loads of space in there but empty. Hotels need to learn if they lower there prices then people will have a drink there. However there were a couple of lakeside bars immediately across the street and of course the centre was near, it's just that if prices were comparable the bar in the hotel would have people in. All in all a very lovely stay and I would definitely recommend it.

The location of the Regina Palace is enchanting, it is located on the lake front, the structure from the outside is very impressive but the interiors are really very dated and inside there are only fake flowers everywhere even as a table centerpiece you can only find fake flowers. The quality of the food is nothing special, the service leaves something to be desired, the only positive thing is that the structure overall is clean although a little maintenance could be done, especially in the bathrooms. The approach of some members of the structure is really very rude, from a 4 star I expected much more, below my expectations

We had a most wonderful time at the Regina Palace. The hotel was built around 1907 and is styled very much like a palace or stately home. This hotel directly overlooks lake Maggiore and the picturesque Barromean islands, the view is beautiful and literally just across the road from the hotel. This is a great place to take a leisurely stroll. The entrance hall and lounge area is spectacular, it is like stepping back in time, all ornate mouldings, fresco style ceiling artwork and chandeliers, all very elegant, refined and perfectly presented.
All the downstairs areas are beautifully reminiscent of times gone by, the hallways are lined with glass fronted display cabinets full of trinkets and curios, all very pretty. The elegant lounge and dining areas are stunning and the food is very good, well prepared and presented by courteous attentive staff. There is also a great choice of wines. There is a bar with outside seating, lovely to sit there on a warm evening and listen to the entertainment.
Breakfast is amazing, such a huge variety of food both hot and cold to choose from. Fruit, cheeses, yogurt cold meats and pastries also the usual English style breakfast offerings. This is a buffet style meal and excellent.
Also downstairs there is a spa suite with sauna, massage, steam room and an amazing in door swimming pool decked out to look like a cave, with jacuzzi jets. The water is lovely and warm and mood lighting enhances the whole area.
Bedrooms are decorated in the old fashioned style to compliment the age of the hotel. Very comfortable beds, plenty of wardrobe and drawer space all extremely clean as are the bathrooms even though our bathroom was compact. Bath robes and slippers are provided along with the fluffy white towels.
Outside there are huge, attractive and well kept gardens set with tables and chairs and other comfortable seating. The gardens also have fish pools, a swimming pool and a grill serving various different food. There are lawned areas with sun loungers so you can relax if you don’t want to swim.
The reception staff are very obliging and efficient so check in very quick and easy.
Stresa it’s self is a few minutes walk away bustling with pavement style eating places and bars serving a great variety of food and drink. Not forgetting the wonderful ice cream shops with so many different flavours to choose from. The cone sizes are very generous.
When we arrived home we went to the travel agents and rebooked for next year.

This hotel advertises itself as a 4 star hotel. It is far from it. The rooms and the beds feel like they haven’t been updated since 1900. There is no guide in the room for the hotel: no phone numbers for reception or room service. They are non- existent. As are their services. I went down to the bar directly to get a bucket of ice, as there is no room service available. Apparently, there is no such thing here. I was given a bowl of ice cubes. The room temperature was over 85F upon arrival. The AC simply wasn’t working. When I went to reception to sort it out,(because there is no one to call), someone was sent up and assured us it was working. After 10 hours and the sun setting, it finally started working. The shower was good and worked well. The shower towels were little more than thin, worn, rags. No washcloths in the bathroom. No luggage racks in the hotel. Luggage sits in antique furniture. Clothing is hung in the closet on “Can’t steal me” hangers. Would I stay here again? Absolutely f##}}#{#%% no. There are far too many other choices. Steer clear if you want a 4 star hotel. This is definitely not it.

Old grandeur in a prime location in Stresa. The Regina Palace is a visual stunner. Almost perfect from the outside, the lobby and the gardens are also really impressively pompous. Our room was no longer so perfect, rather old, but functional. The garden and pool were really beautiful, well-kept, with fine furniture. Unfortunately, they were at the back of the hotel and did not have a view of the lake, as in many other hotels of this location and category. The breakfast on the terrace was classic. The quality of the food was OK, but not luxurious. The bar service in the evening on the terrace was OK, drinks were rather expensive. The central location in Stresa is nice.

We were on a Riviera tour and this was our selected hotel. It was a super stay during the super hot weather. We enjoyed using the outdoor pool. Towels supplied at the pool side (1 per person). The breakfast offered plenty of selection and we really enjoyed it all! Maoro (think that's how you spell his name) was brilliant. Every morning he would provide a beautiful silver pot of hot water for me to have my 'Biscuit tea'! Always with a smile and friendly banter. The whole waiting and kitchen team should be commended. The housekeeping staff worked very hard and ensured the rooms were clean and the whole hotel sparkled - thank you. We enjoyed our stay at the hotel very much and hopefully will return on the same Riviera tour again - (yes, we loved it that much!)

A big disappointment this hotel which is recommended for 4 luxury stars! Double room with practically separate beds, shabby carpets, aberrant minibar policy, no beer refill in minibar, no coffee maker or kettle, no coffee and tea, no shower cap, no fresh vegetables for breakfast, unlike all hotels in Italy that offer prosecco at they gave you breakfast for 8€/glass, etc Crazy fun not covered by the services offered, I don't recommend if you get to Stresa

Stayed for 2 nights. Good car parking for guests. Check is overly complicated and fussy. We had an end room facing the lake which was huge and a separate seating area along with an outside balcony with table and chairs which was nice. Bathroom was great with full-size walk in shower. Strangely we had a ‘circular’ bed which was not particularly comfortable - also the pillows were hopeless and no where near enough for 2 persons.
Mini bar literally has a mind of its own - call it an early version of AI because the moment you open it it charges you. If you touch anything it charges you. If you place anything on there it also charges you. We had a string debate with reception at checkout to get a lot of false charges cancelled.
SPA is first class and highly recommended, excellent masseuse and great pool, steam room and sauna.
Ideally situated for touring Stressa or the islands.

We stayed in various hotels so not certain. There was definitely a safe, no charge. I think there wasn't a fridge, though they will let you empty the minibar and use it for a fee. I'm not sure about tea making, there was one hotel that didn't have it.
Apologies for not being more helpful.
