My daughter and I stayed 3 nights in this charming hotel. The staff were friendly and helpful even on the morning we left which was very early, provided us with a coffee and a small snack. The room was spacious and very clean and is situated in an excellent position on the canal. We did not have a car and...

Went on a business trip to this hotel and my expectations were high because it was massively recommend by a few friends. I was even more surprised and pleased by it that I expected. Everything was brilliant. All new and modern but at the same time decorated in a traditional Italian style. People were super nice at the hotel too....

The Maison Borella is located along one of the visible portions of canals that used to encircle the city. The Navigli District has become an upbeat neighborhood for meeting friends and dining out in the evenings. Our hotel was located a short walk from the street where the taxi dropped us off. Check in was efficient and the porter was...

Lovely place, very warmly welcomed by Ahmadou (very kind, very happy guy!) as also Alessandro from reception team. They both made our trip quite better. The bar/restaurant team is unfortunately less friendly. The rooms are sweet and all fine - just a bit loudy.

This was a very clean, first rate hotel within a busy part of Milan. It is on the main canal, and when I was there, it was definitely party central. However, once you walk in, it was rather sound proof, as was the bedroom. The exception is if there is a soccer match going on, you'll never escape the noise...

My wife and I stayed here for four nights recently and it met our needs very well. The hotel is situated on one of the remaining canals in the Porta Ticinese area of the city. The area is well provided with bars and restaurants but, oddly, not many hotels that we saw. Maison Borella has rooms overlooking the canal and...

I woke up to birds chirping and a fresh breeze, sipped espresso at breakfast with a sunny view of the canal, and lounged in the lush courtyard. The staff were exceptionally warm and welcoming and provided recommendations of where to visit and dine in the city (at any hour). The location of this charming boutique hotel is excellent, as we were...

Beautiful boutique hotel with delicious breakfast and comfortable bar. We stayed in one of their suites and it was spacious and comfortable. Relaxing sitting room and outdoor patio, great for a drink, book, or to catch up on work; great when you need to get away from the busy Milan streets. 20 minute walk to the Duomo and other tourist...

Classic recepies turned into a modern version. Always had a good experience. Nice place to take guest visiting Milan that want to enjoy the vibrant Navigli area from a cozy,...

We had a great stay at this cozy and charming hotel. Our canal view room was comfortable and well-designed. The living room with comfy sofas and chairs was a great place to hang out and read or have a cocktail. The breakfast spread was tasty and had lots of choices. Great location with lots of restaurants and bars nearby, plus...

Staying in Navigli

Neighbourhood Profile
Navigli
The Navigli is part of historic Milan. In the ancient days, the entire city was linked with canals, similar to Venice. Today, most of the canals are gone, but the Navigli remains a canal-based neighborhood. There are two major canals: Naviglio Pavese and Naviglio Grande. The Naviglio Grande's bridges greet visitors at dusk with an amazing view. The Navigli district specializes in clubs, cafes, and vintage shops. Lifestyle reigns supreme here. You can start the walk from the Colonne di San Lorenzo, an antique colonnade in front of the Basilica di San Lorenzo. During the daytime, this place acts as a meeting point for artists and students reading books or chatting with friends; the nights turn it into a stepping-stone for club hoppers. Science lovers will also relish the opportunity to visit the Science and Technology National Museum Leonardo Da Vinci, showcasing inventions of the Italian genius.
