My husband and I stayed here for three nights. The hotel is in a great location in Brera, two minutes walk to the metro station (by metro to garibaldi 5 min and Milano Centrale 10min) , if you want to walk from the station plaza Garibaldi to the hotel is about 12 min and it safe and a nice walk (we did it as we took the malpessa express from the airport).
Plenty of bars and restaurants nearby, our room was clean and good sized. The staff was good enough, the breakfast is “okish” no too much variety in the hot option and it can be very busy in the rush hour.
We do recommend this hotel for a city break, as it is walking distance to the main landmarks and if you want to go further the metro station is just there.

We stayed at the Hotel Ritter for 3 nights, 21st to 24th May 2022. We had a twin room with en suite bathroom equipped with a shower, bidet and hair dryer. Sachets of soap and shampoo plus shower caps were provided. The room was spacious and spotlessly clean, had balcony overlooking the grounds to the rear of the hotel and was equipped with a fridge, a safe and TV. The beds and pillows were comfortable, the bed was made each day and fresh towels were provided at least once during our stay. The location was excellent. Turn right or left out of the hotel and you are in the middle of bars, restaurants, cafes and gelateria. The Corso Garibaldi and Largo la Foppa are bustling and vibrant with a great atmosphere. And if you want to go further afield, to the Duomo Di Milano, to see da Vinci’s ‘Last Supper’, the Leonardo da Vinci Science Museum or the Navigli district (we visited them all and they were all well worth the visit) Hotel Ritter is situated between Muscova and Lanza metro stations with only a short walk to either station. All of the staff at the Hotel Ritter were fantastic - welcoming, friendly, helpful and courteous - despite at times being almost overwhelmed by check ins/outs at this obviously very popular hotel. The breakfasts were good too. Croissants, toast, fresh fruit, fresh juice, yoghurt, cereal, eggs, sausage, ham and cheese, jam, honey etc. All this for only £50 GBP per night. If I ever go back to this fantastic City I will definitely try to the Hotel Ritter.

We stayed 2 nights in Ritter, as part of a long weekend in Milan. The hotel is perfectly located within a 5 min walk to the nearest underground station. Our room was on the second floor, facing the street with a balcony. It was newly refurbished and a very good size. The room itself was great - plug sockets either side of the bed. Full length mirror. Large dressing mirror with plugs and a table. The only major downfall is the noise. The hotel is actually located in a quieter area of Milan. The road in front of the hotel is single lane, one way - so there isn't much traffic. However, on one of our nights we were woken by street sweepers cleaning the streets at 12am with an industrial jet washer (sounded like it was in the room with you), this was then followed by the rubbish collection trucks at 12:30am ish. You can also hear every door closing throughout the whole hotel. We were woken one night by next door's shower at 1am, which genuinely sounded like a nematic drill was going off in our room. We stayed in Milan, Como and Venice during our stay and I think soundproofing is a general point throughout all the hotels we stayed. It may sound picky but it isn't - I can tolerate the odd sound, bang, door etc and can wear ear plugs but you can literally hear next door's normal volume conversations through the walls.

Hotel is located in the most comfortable district of Milano Brera: it is nice place full of art galleries, local shops and restaurants; also it is just about 20-25 minutes walking to Duomo; the metro station is in 3 minutes. I have come to this hotel for the 3 time, and every time it meets better. The double room is quite large, the bed and pillows are very comfortable, some rooms have balcony. It is not luxury, but provides the minimum you may need in traveling (fridge, safe, some bathroom amenities). The breakfast is sufficient (good coffee, fruits, croissants, sausages, eggs etc). The only minuses I’ve got were TV only in Italian, not strong WiFi connection. But the ratio price-quality is adequate.

Good basic budget hotel that covers all of the basics. Reception staff are friendly and speak English. Rooms are spacious enough, look a little tired but with enough sockets for charging your electronic devices. The rooms are quiet and the air con is good and quiet enough for you to get a good nights sleep. The beds are firm with a choice of firm/soft pillows and quilt and/or blanket. There are soaps and body wash in the bathroom and a basic hair dryer, all good enough for a overnight stay. There are no coffee or tea making facilities in the bedrooms but there are cold drinks and snack dispensing machines in the foyer and the bedroom corridors. The drinks and snacks are cheap compared to surrounding shops. The breakfast is good and has the necessities. There are plenty of good bars and restaurants close to this hotel and it is in a nice area. The hotel reception can easily book you a cab to Linate airport, or there is Moscova metro station on the corner of the street. This hotel is about a 10 minute walk to Sforzesco castle and park.

Pros: the hotel is in a fantastic location and the reception staff was nice.

Cons: there are definitely many issues in the hotel that are due to poor quality service and that can certainly be improved upon. The most striking one is the amount of dust in the room and, in general, around the establishment. Linked to this, the room service provided was below standards, as they barely made the bed and clean nothing in the room nor substitute towels even when left on the floor.
Also, there is quite poor air circulation, which not only affects the temperature in the room, particularly noticeable in high temperatures, but also the huge presence of mosquitoes that might affect the stay of many people since not pleasant at all.
In addition, we had a blockage of the bath drainage water hole that prevented us to shower on the last day. When highlighted this to reception, all they could offer was an alternative room, which was more a hassle than anything else, rather than calling a maintenance person who could have resolved the problem, saying that at the time the issue was reported (7pm) nobody was left to do such a job.

Overall, the place needs a better service, more maintenance and care. The negatives definitely outweigh the positives and I would not come back here.

Stayed here for four nights and we really enjoyed are stay here. Rooms are a bit dated but have a traditional feel to them and are kept spotlessly clean. Breakfast included was great too can’t go wrong with the choices of Ham and cheese with plenty of croissants and yoghurts too. Reception staff were always really pleasant and happy to assist with any queries. Nice hotel.

Very pleased about our weekend getaway staying at the Ritter. Primarily for it’s central location in the Brera restaurant walking zone district close to many of the attractions in Milan. The hotel itself doesn’t look much from the outside but offers good service, clean an modern rooms. The balconies on the garden side appreciated. Breakfast is rather simple but offered at a very affordable cost.

The hotel has a fantastic location for exploring the city of Milan. Great transport links for airport and trains, but everything is within reach by foot in the city from here.
The staff were also brilliant, nothing was too much trouble, always smiling and friendly.
However, the rooms were very basic, stained on the walls, needing decorating, very dark and bare. No drink making facilities or water. The shower was cramped and it was a very tight space around the toilet. I am a small woman, size UK 8 and I struggled.
Me and my friend had over 6 bites each from staying in these rooms, we had seperate rooms with our partners.
The breakfast was very sparse and limited, one of the two coffee machines were out of
order both mornings.
I would not stay at this hotel again or recommend it. The price only reflected the location not the facilities.

We have just finished a 3 night stay at Hotel Ritter. The rooms are spacious, clean and have good air conditioning for the warm weather. The beds are large and very comfortable with extra pillows/blankets in the wardrobe if needed.

The staff are very welcoming with 24 hr reception. A special mention to Charl who was so friendly and helpful, providing us with lots of recommendations & information about different places to visit during our first visit to Milan - Thank you Charl!

The hotel has an excellent location. It is a short walk to restaurants and bars, with notable landmarks (Duomo, Sempione Park, Leonardo DiVinci Museum etc) all within walking distance. If you wish to visit the Navigli district or take a train to Lake Como, the metro (Moscova) station is right around the corner from the hotel where you can get metros or stop at Cardorna FN for train connections.

Breakfast is a continental breakfast which included a selection of croissants/pastries/cereals etc.

We had a great stay at Hotel Ritter and would certainly stay again.

It's very easy to just get a taxi from the dedicated taxi area outside the arrivals exit. Rate is set and you'll have no issues with getting ripped off or finding whoever is supposed to meet you if you hassle with pre-arranging a collection... I'd say, just keep it simple. Enjoy Milan, it's fabulous!!!
